Situated just 5 minutes' walk from Keswick town centre and 10 minutes from the lake shore, you'll be hard-pressed to find another cottage located so centrally. This cottage makes a perfect base for a young couple or small family to launch into adventures in the Lake District, with easy access to a plethora of restaurants, bars, pubs, culture and entertainment in the town centre.

Originally built in 1906 as shops and storerooms, the cottage was used for many years by the local Boy Scout Group. It was then used as a Quaker Meeting House until 1994, when it was converted into two cottages. It is now a delightful pet-free cottage and sleeps up to three people across two bedrooms.

If you’re looking for action and adventure, Keswick is a hub of activity. Rent a bike from Keswick Mountain Bikes, scramble up the climbing wall or have a go at dragon boating on Derwent Water. Whatever outdoor activity you’re into, it’s bound to be available in Keswick. An array of outdoor shops are located in the town centre and there is plenty to do for little adventurers, including crazy golf, radio controlled boating, the King Kong play centre and the Puzzling Place (we’ll leave that to your imagination!).

Entry to the cottage is from Church Street into the cosy, open-plan kitchen and living room. A breakfast bar and four funky red stools divide the kitchen and lounge and serves as the cottage's dining area. The kitchen itself comprises of an electric oven with gas hob, microwave, under-the-counter fridge, washer/dryer, freestanding freezer, toaster and wine rack.

The living room features a huge corner settee, which seats five people, an equally large TV and a wall-mounted electric fire. The cottage has Wi-Fi connectivity. The open-plan living area has a triple aspect and a small yard can be seen to the rear and Church Street and Eskin Street to the front and side.

Situated on the first floor are two bedrooms, one double and one with a single bed, and the bathroom. Each bedroom contains a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a TV; the master bedroom looks out over Church Street and Eskin Street and the single bedroom overlooks the rooftops towards Eskin Street. The bathroom features a bath, shower over the bath, heated towel rail and WC.

An excellent base for a Lake District holiday. Very easy walk into Keswick and down to the lakeside. Super walking in easy reach. Comfortable, quiet accommodation.

Fabulous stay at Barrowside. Welcoming cottage with lovely little touches when we arrived too. Great location to walk into Keswick. We would definitely return to this cottage.

Cottage is located very well for trips into Keswick, and you can plan several walks from the front door.

Great location for town - 3-4 mins from town on foot, 2 mins from Fitz Park. For anyone concerned about parking we were able to park near to the cottage every day. Cottage is clean, well equipped and perfect for two people.

We had a lovely stay at cottage well equipped and clean and near to all amenities. We would recommend this cottage to anyone going to Keswick. We will be visiting Keswick in the future so hopefully this will be vacant when we do.
