This is a cosy self-catering cottage sleeping three guests and welcomes two dogs: perfect for couples or a small family. This semi-detached cottage is located in the quiet village of Little Clifton. With its network of country lanes, rivers and becks coupled with views of the fells towards the Buttermere Valley, there is opportunity to experience many different types of wildlife. The cottage is a well equipped home from home with a sitting room that features a wood burner for those winter evenings. A door from the dining area opens onto a patio and grassed garden which is enclosed and a sun trap for most of the day.

The property is well situated for the quieter Western Fells and the Solway coast yet is within easy commute to local towns such as Cockermouth and Workington which are only a 10 minute drive. A 20-30 minute drive will provide access to many of the historic West Coast towns as well as a number of Western Lakes such as Loweswater, Crummock and Buttermere as well as Whinlatter Forest which is a red squirrel strong hold. The interesting West Cumbrian coastline is also within a 20-minute drive - you could take the train along the length of the coast for a special journey with the sea on one side and the Lake District fells on the other. The old Victorian resorts of Seascale, St Bees, Silloth and Maryport all have miles of pebbled and sandy beaches which enjoy spectacular sunsets.

The property dates from the 1700s and is a newly refurbished and redecorated cottage, ideally suited for couples or a small family. A cosy sitting room features a wood burner for which all logs are provided. The tiled floors have welcoming rugs and a leather sofa is arranged around a large flatscreen TV with DVD and CD player.

The kitchen is well equipped with a halogen hob, electric oven, large fridge/freezer, a washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen is open to the dining area with table and chairs and a door to the outside patio and enclosed garden.

Upstairs is the double master bedroom with full sized double bed, fitted wardrobe and pine freestanding furniture. The single bedroom has hanging space and drawers for storage. The new bathroom is equipped with a bath and shower overhead, WC, wash basin and a heated towel rail.

A door from the dining area leads to the patio area which is furnished with a table and chairs. The patio enjoys sun for most of the day. There are several steps up to a grassed area and the entire garden is enclosed. There is also a BBQ available at the cottage for those balmy summer months.

Clean, tidy cottage with everything you need. Owners are lovely and live next door. Dog friendly but they are not allowed on furniture. Stair gate so although nothing was mentioned i didn't let mine go upstairs. My girls loved the garden and watching the neighbours dog!

It really is a well equipped cottage. It's also in a really good, quiet location, within easy reach of the A66 leading to the coast or the lakes. We went to Hill Top, Keswick Pencil Museum, the Mining Museum, Muncaster Castle and Derwent Water. Actually a relaxing week, which was much needed.
