With Blencathra providing a stunning backdrop, the village of pretty Caldbeck lies within the northern edge of the Lake District National Park on the Cumbrian Way. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy many lovely walks in Caldbeck, including the riverside walk to Howk Gorge, past the old Bobbin Mill, half a mile away. If you prefer walking in the fells, High Pike is 6 miles away, and Blencathra is just 14 miles away. Enjoy a peaceful cruise along the picturesque waters of Ullswater aboard an iconic Ullswater Steamer, 20 miles away. Tranquil Bassenthwaite Lake, 10 miles away, is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, overlooked by the peak of Skiddaw.

A beautiful clean cottage and a lovely quiet village, the welcome hamper was exceptional and the extras supplied were a lovely surprise, even some treats for our dog were provided. It was very well kitted out and we enjoyed home cooked food and a bbq. Its a lovely quiet location and a meal at the village pub is a must! Thus is a fantastic cottage where is clear that guest experience is very important to the owners. Every comfort has been considered and there were lots of extra touches to make our stay special. For example, fresh flowers,an exceptional welcome pack, premium dog treats, good quality toiletries in the bathrooms, etc . Too many to mention really. Absolutely gorgeous cottage in an amazing location. The cottage has such a lovely feel about it, it has been done to a high standard and we felt instantly relaxed. Superb luxurious cottage, it had everything we needed, spacious but also warm and cosy. We had a lovely break in a beautiful quiet area of the Lakes.

We had such a lovely stay at Beech Cottage and would definitely stay again. The house is recently renovated and everything was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a nicer home, we felt warm and safe and comfortable. The owner was so kind and attentive. Walks out of the door, all the amenities you need in the village.
