Ambleside (5 miles) is home to The Bridge House, Ambleside Roman Fort, and Stock Ghyll Force. Other local attractions include Whitbarrow National Nature Reserve, Brockhole on Windermere, Stagshaw Gardens, Holehird Gardens, Lakeland Motor Museum, and Townend, all within 10 miles.
