The location of this property is as described, remote and beautiful, the beds are extremely comfortable, the layout of the cottage is both spacious and welcoming and the cottage was very clean throughout. However there are important elements of the description and of the visuals portrayed by the photographs that are not "As Described". 1 - The deRead morescription given to assist in getting to the cottage really needs a review. There are 2 consecutive signs directing to Fawcett Mill and if not read correctly it is easy to take the 1st incorrect turning. Also the "What three words" locations given in the arrival instructions did not take us to either of the intended locations. 2 - The cottage garden is definitely NOT dog safe. The fence in the photo of the garden is knee high if that, the cattle grid protecting the property is so overgrown that it is possible to walk straight across it unaided. And there is a huge 4ft square hole in the wall surrounding the lower section of the property allowing easy and direct access into the field. 3 - The description of the cottage talks about a well maintained garden area suitable for games etc which in the photograph looks flat. In reality we found the lawn to be overgrown and the garden to be on a steep slope. We also had to pick up previous owners dog poo. There are also some areas that require attention which other guests have also commenting on within the cottage guest comments book but which remain unattended to. 1 - The TV remote does not work properly 2 - The Cooker Hob takes forever to cook anything on and 1 of the ovens does not work. Lastly, there is no facility to recycle so absolutely everything ends up in the bin which in this day and age is unacceptable. Overall, we had a comfortable stay in a beautiful location but which, with a little bit of care and attention, would have been exceptional. Hide

The dustbin is far too small. At the end of the week a bag of rubbish left outside had been ripped apart (by a fox?) and its contents spilled around the area.

What an amazing rural cottage. So peaceful with only cows and sheep for neighbours. Beds were so comfortable. Adequate heating and a plenty of hot water throughout, didnt need to use log burner. Large kitchen well stocked with utensils. Two bedrooms on suite, third with family bathroom. Books, games and puzzles to use. Location was remote but viewsRead more were amazing. Distance to nearest shops/pubs within 20mins drive. Worth trying local eateries. Central location to Lake District area Hide

Cottage was in the perfect setting views amazing. Everything you need was catered for very remote and difficult to find instructions to Cottage was not great could do with updating. Only downside grass around property was very long so made it difficult to enjoy outside space.

The perfect holiday. The accommodation was first class. Holiday Cottage beds/bedrooms usually creep me out, however the bedrooms were really cosy, clean and good quality bed linen made for a good night's sleep. The location was perfect with easy access to North and South Lakes and as an added bonus it didn't rain once.
