Overall we had a great stay at the cottage. I'd read all the reviews so was well prepared for the steep steps inside, but not so aware about the steep steps outside to the garden which I unfortunately did take a tumble down when they were slippery and wet, so do be careful! The cottage itself was perfectly fine for us two adults and two dogs and grRead moreeat location. We ate in most evenings and had everything we needed to cook with. Master bed comfy and spacious. Communication good with owners. Hide

Steep stairs to 1st floor. Door at base of stairs does not close properly Broken steps up into the grassed area of the garden Neighbouring family who live there are very friendly - but privacy is an issue as they can see right into the cottage Should be clearer that it is not a secure garden for small dogs.

A lovely little cottage perched up on the hillside about a mile outside the town. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Parking was adequate for one small car immediately behind the cottage.

A spotlessly clean, cosy cottage. The stairs are steep but not unmanageable with care. Very comfortable beds and excellent heating. A pleasant off road path into Coniston just outside the cottage.

This cottage is lovely and cosy and met our every need, and our little dog liked it too. It was lovely watching the sheep walk by every morning . Its location was close to Coniston and it was a bonus being able to walk there, which took about 20 minutes. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Great location and clean, well equipped accommodation. Be aware stairs to first floor bedroom are steep, but the details make this clear.

It was fabulous. Lovely homely cottage. Very warm and comfortable and super clean! Can't fault it. Just wish we could have stayed longer. I had the best nights sleep ever. The bed was so comfy. The corner bath was a treat and the house was very warm and cosy. We had everything we needed. Great access to local amenities and stunning walks.

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely cottage. Clean and well equipped for our stay. Lovely cosy cottage to come back to after days hiking. We stayed as family of 4 (2 teens and 1 dog) perfect cottage. Great location to visit local sites, Cathedral Cave, Rydal Caves and Aira Force a few we loved. Would be nice to be able to leave our dog in the coRead morettage so we could go out for dinner after long hikes, but understand why due to previous dogs behaviour Hide

A lovely little cottage with good facilities, in a nice location. The parking to the rear is however very tight, at least for our larger car.

Very comfortable and well equipped for every day. Warm and clean. Great location for walks and with an off road path to the village was very good to leave the car behind. Parking was tight behind the cottage and we dont have a huge car. Steps in garden and stairs inside not suitable for anyone with any mobility issues or very young children.
