Surrounded by the postcard-perfect scenery of Morecambe Bay, the small, sleepy village of Allithwaite, offers some wonderfully scenic, sun-dappled walks in and around the village from the doorstep. Sample some of the area’s best local produce from the picturesque village of Cartmel just over 2 miles away, boasting quaint cobbled streets housing bespoke shops and quality eateries; a family day out at Cartmel Racecourse (2 miles) is a must. The wonderful ornamental gardens and long seafront promenade of Grange-Over-Sands can be reached less than 2 miles away, whilst peaceful cruises along Lake Windermere aboard a traditional steamer can be reached within 16 miles from Bowness-On-Windermere.

We could not fault our stay and everything was taken care of from the hamper to the cupboards filled with necessities and ice in the fridge and if we won the lottery the cottage would be on our purchase list haha. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It was a pleasure to stay at Bay Hall, a truly beautiful and well designed property. As a party of 6, we felt that it was very spacious and we enjoyed the outdoor views. We had a wonderful stay here! We were 6 adults, 2 dogs and a baby and we had tonnes of space for everyone. The house is stunning, and decorated beautifully. The views are incredible, and the location is peaceful yet convenient. The local shop is lovely, selling all local produce and the local pub is incredible! We really enjoyed our stay at Bay Hall. The house and garden are lovely, with great views and decorated to a high standard. A really stunning house with plenty of space for 8 people, even though there were only 6 of us. Great location minute from a lovely pub and a relatively short walk into Cartmel. Will definitely go back .

Fantastic cottage. Overall would rate it a 4.5 out of 5. The size, comfort and layout made for a great base of operations after a days walking. Great for the older ones to relax in too while the younger ones were out hiking.

What a wonderful place, fabulous location with amazing views over the bay. Very attractive house that's light and airy, with good beds, lovely linen, great showers and all really comfortable.
