There’s a dining table here, and there’s a second one in the kitchen/diner, which has an island unit and comfortable seats surrounding a wood burner. Continue through to the den, where you can play table football; then on to the utility room, where there are laundry facilities, and the last room on the ground floor is a shower room. Head upstairs for the bedrooms. There are two king-size rooms, one with an en-suite shower room featuring a Jacuzzi shower, and the other with an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath. Then you’ll see the double bedroom, the twin bedroom and finally a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The cottage has a stone garden, enclosed by a wooden fence.

Pack your swimming costumes and visit Silloth (4 miles), a port town where you can splash around on the dog-friendly beach or amble along the promenade. Then go to the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (11 miles) to see lots of wildlife.
