A fantastic holiday base for couples and smaller families, this light and cheerful cottage is perfect for discovering the glorious fells, stunning lakes, and ancient woodlands of the Lake District. The property enjoys an ideal position within easy reach of the town centres of both Windermere and Bowness (both within a mile) where you will have a choice of great pubs and restaurants alongside places of interest including The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, the Windermere Jetty Museum, and Queen Adelaide's Hill. Also within easy reach are Brockhole on Windermere, School Knott Tarn, the Orrest Head Viewpoint, and Blackwell – the Arts and Crafts House (all within 3 miles). From Bowness Bay you can take a steamboat trip across Windermere, calling at Lakeside and Wray Castle. To the north of the lake, Ambleside (5 miles) is home to The Bridge House, Ambleside Roman Fort, and Stock Ghyll Force.

Entering this spacious and inviting property, head through to the generous and brightly lit lounge which features plush seating and a Smart TV, providing a relaxing space for you all to unwind in after a fantastic day discovering the Lakes. Stepping through, the fresh and airy dining room is perfect for enjoying a special family meal together, which you can prepare in the stylish and elegantly tiled galley kitchen, which has a handy additional breakfast table. The ground floor also features a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a small conservatory porch. Going upstairs, you will have a choice of two bright and cosy double bedrooms, each decorated in fresh, relaxing shades. The first floor also features an elegant marble-finished shower room and a separate room which can act as a changing room or office.

Heading outside from the conservatory porch, there's a small seating area which makes a quiet spot for a coffee. Parking is available to the rear of the cottage.

This is a wonderful cottage. It was very clean and provided everything we would need for our stay. The heating did not work because the boiler pressure was too low. A plumber was sent out within a couple of hours to fix this which was great service. The beds were very comfortable. It would be handy to have a choice of twin beds for the childrenRead more. The living room could do with a second sofa for more comfort if four people are staying. I very much appreciated that no pets are allowed. I'm allergic to dogs and this is often a problem for me in holiday cottages. Lovely cottage and great service! Hide

The cottage was perfect! Everything you could need for a week away. Very homely , very well kept and spotlessly clean. Very quiet area so was very relaxing. Ideal location to access all Windermere and Bowness has to offer. Only niggles being the mattress was not massively comfy also the shower doesn't drain well so tray gets full of water. Also perRead moresonally I would have preferred blinds or something up at kitchen and back area windows, especially as it gets darker earlier now. But would definitely return to this cottage. The dressing room was fab to use every morning! Also loved the night light for using the bathroom in the night. Little touches made it great. Also thankyou for the wine and biscuits! Hide

Our stay at Sunny Bank Cottage was fantastic, we were made to feel so welcomed by the owners. The location is great to access both Bowness and Windermere. The entire house was absolutely spotless. Communication from Lakeland Retreats was fantastic, with details on everything we needed. Highly recommended for a stay in the Lake District.

Very newly renovated lovely place with everything well presented. Super clean and tidy. Kitchen, bathroom lacking a few things but was supplied after a day. Comfortable & easy access to Windermere & Bowness by feet. Thanks
