Right opposite Bridge House – an iconic Lakeland attraction in the beautiful town of Ambleside – this fantastic six-person property invites guests to discover Cumbria's many wonders and unforgettable sights. Spend your days exploring local fells, riverside footpaths and the national park's mighty lakes, including Lake Windermere, just 1 mile away. From here, take a cruise on the lake steamer, stopping off to explore the picturesque towns of Windermere (5 miles) and Bowness (5.5 miles). Across the water, discover Claife Heights (6 miles), Latterbarrow (5 miles), and the National Trust-managed Tarn Hows (6 miles), each offering beautiful scenery, accessible walking routes and abundant wildlife. A little further afield, the Old Man of Coniston (10 miles) and Coniston Water (7 miles) form a lake-and-mountain duo that draws outdoor adventurers from far and wide.

This premium three-storey holiday home has been thoughtfully updated, seamlessly blending original features, including exposed stonework, with modern comforts and high-quality fixtures and fittings. On the ground floor, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner sets the scene for evenings of good food and conversation. The kitchen sits to one side alongside a six-person dining table, with the lounge area opposite. A bay window fills the space with natural light, while a wood burner set against a feature stone wall creates a cosy focal point for evenings in front of the Smart TV. Exposed brickwork continues into two of the bedrooms on the first floor. These are arranged as a king-size and a double, both spacious and inviting, and each with its own Smart TV. The third bedroom occupies the second floor: a generous super-king-size room, also with a Smart TV. This room benefits from a luxurious en-suite featuring a double-ended free-standing bath – perfect for soaking after a busy day. Back on the first floor, guests also have access to a stylish and equally appealing shower room.

At the front of the property, a bench provides the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee while watching Ambleside come to life. For added convenience, there is an external boot room with hanging space for wet gear and a tumble dryer. A parking permit is provided for two cars in local car parks.

Lovely house in a great location.

Great location and lovely spacious property. Having two parking permits was a real selling point too as parking could otherwise get quite expensive for two cars for a full week. We'd definitely consider staying here again on our next trip to Ambleside.
