A cosy hideaway for two, this Ambleside apartment is an idyllic, romantic bolthole for couples. Set at the ground-floor level, the one-bedroom abode nestles in an exceptional setting, close to pubs, eateries, galleries and shops. Stroll just over 0.5 miles from here to see the enchanting waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Walk through the town or drive 1 mile down to Waterhead on the shores of magnificent Windermere. Here you can choose whether to hire a motorboat, rowing boat or even a paddle board to make your own way out onto the still water. Decide whether to board a lake cruise instead to take in the magical Lakeland scenery from an organised tour. Visit Grasmere, 3.5 miles away, to explore Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum, where the celebrated English poet lived. While you are here, sample some of the village's famous gingerbread that he was reputed to have enjoyed.

Approach the apartment via its gate and a set of 11 slate steps. Cross the terrace and open the stable door to step into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Discover this has a lovely slate floor and a wood burner that is set into a fireplace with a characterful wooden beam and revealed stone chimney breast. Sink into the plump leather sofa to bask in the crackling heat of the wood burner as you peruse a novel from the shelves or flick through the channels on the TV. The kitchen, with its light cabinets, has a modern country style. Here you will find everything you need to help you rustle up those romantic holiday meals for one another. Dine together at the table on those evenings you choose not to make your way out to a local eatery. As the sun goes down over undulating Cumbria, your beautiful double bedroom is just a few steps away. This comes with the added luxury of a dressing room and reading area. The contemporary bathroom has both a shower and a bath to cater for your every whim.

Step outside to savour the fresh air and sunshine on your private terrace. Dine out here on occasion and look out over Ambleside as the lights start to twinkle and you can see Loughrigg Fell in the distance. This property has private, off-road parking for one car.

The location. Great location with two pubs nearby and location to town. Parking space was a gem. Kitchen well appointed and standard of equipment was good. Noise from upstairs is minimal and to be fair once tv or radio on not noticeable. Office responded well to a query.

Great location with the benefit of parking. Nice simple accommodation. As with previous reviews you can hear everything going on upstairs. While the accomodation had a well fitted out kitchen and fire, you have to provide everything, fire wood, tea bags etc. A pleasant stay.

The accommodation was lovely place to stay, location was excellent with all the amenities of Ambleside easily walkable. The kitchen was very well equipped which helps when you're self catering.

We really enjoyed our week's stay. It is a good size for a couple and has a well equipped kitchen if you want to cook meals rather than going out all the time. The designated car parking space was perfect and right outside of the property, which avoided the need to pay for parking in the nearby public car parks. The location is great - it is set baRead moreck up the hill from the centre of Ambleside which means that it is fairly quiet, but it is only a few minutes walk from the centre with the pubs/restaurants. Ambleside itself is a great place as a base to explore the Lakes either by car, by public transport or on foot. Hide
