A gorgeous period home with an abundance of original charm, this enticing retreat nestles in a semi-rural setting at Bowness-on-Windermere. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom house has been carefully restored to offer impressive accommodation just 0.5 miles from the great lake of Windermere. It is well placed for reaching pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as the shops of Bowness and Windermere. Venture 1 mile to take a ferry across the water or board a cruise that will take you from top to bottom of the lake. You can also hire your own rowing and motor boats. Hop on a steam train and take in the scenery as you journey in style from a carriage dating back to the 1950s. Lace up your walking boots and head off on exhilarating walks. Climb Brant Fell, less than 1 mile away, to enjoy views out over the town and towards the lake.
Enter the house, which still has its historic pink exterior, via the impressive conservatory where several ponds sit against natural stones and specimen plants create a captivating setting. This is an idyllic place to unwind over morning coffee or a cup of tea and your holiday novel. Head into the boot room to leave muddy footwear and all your other outdoor gear. There is also a family shower room with a WC here. Pause for a few moments to plan your evening viewing in the den, where there is a Smart TV, before ambling on through into the country kitchen, where there is a breakfast table and some seats so you can sit and chat to the chef over a cup of fresh coffee from the machine. The kitchen flows easily into the elegant dining room, where you can gather for your special meals. Two steps lead into the lounge, which has slate floors and a wood burner to create a cosy ambience during autumn and winter stays. A door from here opens onto the rear garden. Climb the open-tread staircase from the dining room up to the first floor, where two of your lovely bedrooms are positioned. These include a king-size bedroom, with a separate seating area, and a super-king-size, with beautiful beams, a dressing room and a Juliet balcony. There is a family bathroom here too. A second staircase from the lounge leads to a third king-size bedroom, also with exposed beams. A convenient shower room is also here.
Stroll out into the summer sunshine to explore the unusual gardens. Soak up the sunshine and enjoy the glorious views. Please note the extensive grounds contain several large ponds and uneven areas, so please supervise children and dogs at all times. There is private, off-road parking for three cars.
