This romantic bolthole in the heart of Ambleside is the perfect base for couples seeking a mix of relaxation and adventure. The apartment's central location means the village's shops, galleries, cafes, bars, and popular restaurants are all right on your door. The nearby fells beckon, visible from the lounge window, tempting even novice walkers to head straight into the hills. A gentle mile's stroll takes you to Lake Windermere at Waterhead, where you can hop aboard a cruise. Explore the lake at a leisurely pace, stopping off at waterside villages along the way to enjoy scenic views and local treats.

Inside, exposed stone walls and oak beams have been carefully preserved, while the oak flooring throughout adds a contemporary touch. The open-plan living area draws the eye to a wood burner nestled against the stonework – a cosy spot to gather on the leather sofa during cooler months. A window seat frames sweeping vistas over the rooftops to Loughrigg Fell, while the kitchen combines cool granite surfaces with limestone tiles for a sleek, stylish finish. The king-size bedroom continues the traditional theme, with charming windows, soft furnishings, and access to a dressing room complete with a day bed. Adjacent, the slate-tiled bathroom features a power shower over a deep bath – just the thing for easing tired legs after a day exploring the fells.

While the cottage doesn't have its own garden, the surrounding fells beckon from the doorstep, ready to be explored. Parking is available on the sloping roadside, or you can use the nearby car park with a permit provided.

Great little place for a couple. Excellent location. Only drawback and I have mentioned this on feedback for previous visits: We like to spend our evenings in, cooking and enjoying being in the property, with a film of boxset, the tv still needs upgrading, not having a tv with ability to access streaming apps lets it down.

We frequently visit the lakes and normally stay elsewhere but this time we thought we'd stay in Ambleside. Little bethel was very charming, such a welcoming and lovely feel to it. It was bright, spacious and the bed was really comfy. We didn't use it but the log burner would be great for colder days. We spent most of our time outside but the cottagRead moree was equipped with a basic TV and dvd player and lots of dvds, books, boardgames and a stereo (that had an iPod dock in it if anyone still uses those!) it was a bit of a blast from the past in some respects. Little bethel was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay It"s the perfect location for a hiking holiday. The renovation itself had been done really tastefully and kept some of the lake district charm with some modern updates. It was genuinely lovely and we had a nice time after a few adjustments. Hide
