Nestled near Newby Bridge at the southern tip of Lake Windermere, this stone-built cottage offers groups of friends or family a wonderful blend of traditional character and contemporary comfort. Visit the Lakeland Motor Museum (0.5 miles) or step back in time at the Haverthwaite Steam Railway, where you can hop aboard a heritage train to Lakeside (2 miles). From there, connect with a lake cruise for scenic sailings across the water to Bowness-on-Windermere (10 miles) or Ambleside (14 miles). At Lakeside, families will also love the Lakes Aquarium, while those craving a challenge can test their teamwork skills at the nearby Cliffhanger Escape Rooms. Outdoor enthusiasts are well catered for too, with horse riding, golf courses, cycling routes and mountain bike trails all within easy reach. Fell Foot Park (2.5 miles) is a firm favourite, with lake access for paddleboarders, boat hire, a cafe and plenty of open space for picnics and games.

On the ground floor, there are two inviting bedrooms: a cosy king-size and a luxurious super-king (which can be made into twin single beds on request), both share a Jack and Jill sleek en-suite bathroom that includes a bath and shower. Also on this level is a welcoming living room, where plush sofas and a Smart TV with Sky create a sociable setting for evenings in after days spent exploring. Upstairs, the bright, fully equipped kitchen has everything needed for easy catering, including a dishwasher, while a large dining table brings everyone together for meals. A football table adds a playful twist to the room. This floor is also home to a spacious double bedroom and a twin room, along with a family bathroom fitted with both a bath and a separate shower.

Outside, the terraced garden is stylishly arranged, with outdoor seating for open-air dining. There's secure storage for bikes and paddleboards, plus a covered table tennis table for a bit of friendly competition. Parking for four cars keeps things straightforward from arrival to departure.

Truly a gem! For a large group of people it was perfect. Spacious, well-kept, clean and above all else, cozy and comfy. The table tennis table brought us hours of fun and the location is suburb. Very grateful to have been able to spend time there and would 100% go back again.

We spent a fantastic week at this home from home. Very comfortable, modern and sleek. There were 8 of us and a baby and it suited us perfectly. Furnished impeccably. Lots of space to relax. Just returned for 3 nights in Backbarrow, such a beautiful house, very clean and tidy, kitchen had plenty of plates, glassware and baking trays and dishes. Nice big sized bedrooms with lots of storage. plenty of bathrooms for a large group too,would highly recommend and hopefully come back again. Thank you

Went for a weekend stay with the girls as we were doing the great north swim! Absolutely stunning we were all totally blown away with what we had found, loved every minute of it, totally recommend, thank you for having us all in your beautiful home. Absolutely splendid.

The house was beautifully furnished with everything you would ever need. Very clean and comfortable beds too. The table tennis table and Fussball tables were a great addition. The house is located within easy reach of lots of different activities. Just one thing, although the property allows dogs there are plenty of places for the dogs to escape. TRead morehe main gate wouldn't shut and the dogs could easily have found their way out, but it wouldn't put us off returning. Hide
