This wonderful apartment is an ideal choice for a couple seeking lakeside relaxation or adventurous days outdoors. Nearby steps lead you straight to the heart of the popular market town of Ambleside, where you'll find an array of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops within half a mile of your door. This area is a walker's paradise, and also offers cycling, climbing, canyoning, wild swimming, ridge scrambling, boating and more. For waterside walks or scenic cruises on the iconic Lake Windermere, Waterhead Pier is just under 1 mile away – there's an electric shuttle bus if you don't fancy the stroll. In town, you might also want to try the independent cinema or visit the unique Bridge House, one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Within 1.5 miles, you can reach the Stock Ghyll Force waterfall, Ambleside Roman Fort, and Stagshaw Gardens.

After a day outdoors, it's an absolute treat to return to this bright and welcoming, split-level apartment. A set of 11 slate steps leads you down to your door and in via the boot room, where you can hang coats and leave walking boots. This room is also home to the freezer, a useful washing machine and a hanging rack. The galley-style kitchen has all you'll need to cook up simple meals, with an electric oven, gas hob and fridge. Serve them at the table for two in the light-filled lounge/diner, enjoying the view through the patio doors as you eat. After supper, sit back in the comfortable seating and enjoy a favourite show on the Smart TV, perhaps lighting the coal-effect gas stove for a little extra warmth. On this level, you'll also find the spacious shower room (there's a small step up and into the shower). Six steps then lead up into your king-size bedroom, a cheerful space with ample storage in the form of a built-in wardrobe.

Slide back the doors in the lounge/diner and step out onto your gorgeous terrace, from which there are wonderful views over the tiered garden towards Loughrigg and the surrounding fell range beyond. Sip your morning coffee here, or while away a sunny afternoon with a good book while breathing in the fresh Cumbrian air. A private parking spot is provided outside for one small to medium-sized car.

We enjoyed our holiday in the Lake District. The positives: perfect location, beautifully decorated, an amazing shower, a comfortable bed, a lovely view from the terrace/ living room, and were greeted with chocolates and Prosecco which was a kind touch. We haven't given it 5 stars due to the below issues: We arrived late at night in the rain and stRead moreruggled to find the property. We ended up knocking on a strangers door who informed us that there was no parking space available despite this being advertised. The next day, after we enquired, they told us that the parking space is unavailable for a couple of months, so we had to park in a public car park. They did refund us the cost of this which we were grateful for, however we should have been informed of this beforehand. Additionally, there was building work going on at the property's entrance which limited our access to the property. We were often blocked in/ out by fences, vans, and diggers. Again, we had not been warned about this Hide

Cosy, comfortable apartment, and some lovely welcoming touches, chocolates and Prosecco. Steps down into the centre of Ambleside, so easy access to shops and restaurants. Car access is tight, but doable with care. I'd asked a few questions about parking and Michelle and her team were friendly and responsive. Thank you!
