A delightful hideaway in the attractive village of Far Sawrey, this exquisite cottage enjoys a magical setting. Nestled among rolling green hills, the village is just 1 mile from majestic Windermere and the Claife Viewing Station with its incredible outlook across the lake. Here you can stroll beside the water and take the ferry across to Bowness. The National Trust's Hill Top, Beatrix Potter beloved farmhouse, is just 0.5 miles from the cottage and is a must for anyone who enjoyed the colourful children's tales and would love to see where they were inspired. Hawkshead, 3 miles away, is a vibrant village with shops and eateries. Visit the Beatrix Potter Gallery while you are here. The market town of Ambleside, 8 miles away, has a wider array of independent stores, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Venture 6.5 miles to Coniston, then strike out on footpaths with fabulous views of this beautiful lake.

Make your way into the three-storey, stone cottage from the rear entrance. Find yourselves in the stylish kitchen/diner, where you can take a recipe book from the shelves, then sit at the breakfast table with a fresh cup of coffee to plan your Cumbrian meals. Take one step up into the handy utility room, where you can whizz any damp walking gear through the machines. The beautifully finished family bathroom, which has both a shower and a bath, is just beyond. Climb the stairs to the first floor, where you have the choice of two lounges to unwind in. Settle in front of the Smart TV to enjoy your current boxset in one of the rooms or take your book through to the other, more formal second lounge, which has a flagstone floor, then read for a spell in the glowing heat of the wood burner. Climb another set of stairs to the top floor of the cottage, where you have a king-size bedroom on either side of the split landing. There is a WC on the half landing.

Step outside on sunny days to make the most of the delightful seating area opposite the cottage. Here you can unwind at the stone table and benches under the wooden pergola. The cottage comes with off-road parking for two medium-sized cars.

A lovely stay and a very short walk to the pub across the road. Beautifully furnished and very quiet as relaxing. The advantage of the living room being in an upper floor is the great views . Would come again and recommend to others

Loved Dell cottage, very clean and tastefully furnished. Thank you ... wish we had booked direct with Lakeland Retreats rather than Airbnb as there is a significant price difference.
