This two-bedroom cottage enjoys ever-changing views of Windermere and the surrounding fell ranges, which are going to be tricky to tear away from during the day. There's plenty to do within the Pullwood Bay estate if you don't want to venture out, including strolling through its 51 acres of fabulous landscaped gardens and natural woodland. Although delightfully rural, Cumbria's historic town of Ambleside is just 2 miles away and has a wealth of superb eateries, pubs, galleries and shops to explore. Sit back and relax on a ferry ride across Windermere (4.5 miles) or see more Lakeland sights by strolling around its neighbouring lakes, Coniston Water, Dockey Tarn, or Grasmere (all within 8 miles).

From the ground floor, the entrance to the property leads into the boathouse wet dock and to a flight of stairs leading you to the accommodation on the first floor. Drop your bags in the hallway, then head into the light-filled open-plan living space. On the back wall, floor-to-ceiling doors frame mesmerising views across the lake and fells – a sight you're sure to love. Admire them from the sofas, while watching the TV or while sitting around the six-person wooden dining table. To the left, a modern kitchen contains everything you need to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Continuing on this floor is a beautifully decorated twin bedroom, which can be converted into a super-king-size, and its en-suite shower room with WC. Up the glass and steel staircase leads you to the super-king-size bedroom on the second floor, where stunning lake views and an en-suite bathroom with a deep bath provide the little luxuries needed after a day spent exploring.

Open the floor-to-ceiling doors in the lounge to read your book or fully immerse yourself in the beauty of your surroundings. Lose yourself in the glorious panorama of Windermere while enjoying a picnic with the family at the water's edge in the shared garden. A private jetty provides easy launching for kayaks, canoes and dinghies, while the shallow bay is perfect for paddleboarding and wild swimming. Parking is private and includes three spaces.

Wonderful property. Very comfortable, lovely decor and very clean. It was well stocked with kitchenware, fans, coffee maker etc. We had the living room sliding window doors (sure there is a better way to describe them!) fully open all week. The views of the lake and the fells were just beautiful. Lots of visits from otters, squirrels, a kingfisher(Read more!), bats, a swan family, ducks, herons and the odd fighter jet! We will definitely return! Hide
