Surrounded by sweeping countryside, this historic property offers groups of up to ten guests a peaceful base for exploring the Cumbrian coast and countryside. Original features blend with opulent modern comforts, and there’s plenty of space for relaxing together, both inside and out.
Leave walking boots in the entrance hall and head straight into the kitchen/breakfast room, where flagstone flooring and exposed beams set a grand tone. The array of high-quality appliances, including an Aga and American-style fridge/freezer, will make any cook happy. The separate dining room offers space for everyone to linger over a delicious meal. For relaxing, choose from the ground-floor snug, with its comfortable seating and Smart TV, or the main lounge on the first floor – a magnificent space with A-frame beams, exposed-stone walls and a wood burner set in a large fireplace. On warm days you can open the French doors to the balcony and admire the stunning views. The first of five handsome bedrooms – a super-king-size zip-and-link – is on the ground floor, with a wet room nearby. The remaining bedrooms are on the first floor, two with en-suites and the other two sharing a superb family bathroom. The enclosed garden offers a huge lawn for playing and outdoor seating, while for indoor entertainment you can choose from pool or darts in the games room. Additionally, you’ll have private parking for up to five cars.
The former farmhouse is located between the Lake District and the Cumbrian coast, just 7 miles from the vibrant market town of Cockermouth, where you can stroll through Georgian streets enjoying the variety of shops and places to eat. Loweswater, Crummock Water, Buttermere and Keswick are all within 20 miles, and the sandy beach at St Bees is only 13.5 miles away.
