Surrounded by glorious countryside yet close to village amenities, this handsome detached house is ideal for groups of up to six people looking for space, comfort and walks from the door. Within easy reach of some of the Lake District’s best sites and scenery, it boasts three delightful bedrooms, a wood burner and a large, enclosed garden that’s perfect for children and pets.

This welcoming home thoughtfully combines lovely original details with modern comforts. Unwind in the serene lounge, warmed by the wood burner if the weather is chilly, and perhaps pull a book from the shelves or switch on the Smart TV for entertainment. The kitchen/diner boasts a large dining table where everyone can gather, plus a microwave and a dishwasher to make life easier for the cook. Upstairs, two double bedrooms offer countryside views, while the twin room has zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as a super-king-size on request. An elegant family bathroom serves all three bedrooms. A generous garden slopes away from the house, with a large lawn and a picnic table for sitting out and enjoying the setting. The cottage is on the edge of the tranquil village of Underbarrow, surrounded by hiking and cycling trails. The village pub, which also serves food, is less than a mile away. In Kendal (3.5 miles), you’ll find a superb choice of shops and restaurants, as well as a golf course and the ruins of a medieval castle. Spend a day at the National Trust’s Sizergh house and estate, 4.5 miles away, or the Lakeland Maze Farm Park, just 6 miles away. You’ll also want to head to Lake Windermere, 7.5 miles away, for a tranquil cruise, a scenic walk, or to try some water sports.

Lovely property - fabulous gardens surrounding the house, totally safe for the dog. Very comfortable beds. Property well equipped, full size fridge/freezer which is very useful. Gorgeous views out of the front bedroom windows. Would stay here again.
