This welcoming village retreat is in the heart of Sedbergh, with shops, pubs and places to eat just moments away. Ideal for couples or a small family, it’s a cosy base for walking, cycling, golf or even wild swimming in the Dales or Lake District.
Step through the front door of the terraced stone house and into the open-plan living space, where original slate flooring – softened by rugs – creates a warm welcome. The kitchen provides everything necessary for preparing hearty meals (including a microwave and a dishwasher), and there’s soft seating for relaxing, plus a flame-effect gas fire to add a gentle glow to relaxed evenings. The separate lounge offers another comfortable place to unwind, with board games and a Smart TV for entertainment – not to mention lovely views of the surrounding fells. Upstairs, the tranquil king-size bedroom has an ornamental fireplace and a window seat from which to enjoy the views, while the sweet single bedroom provides a quiet place in which to rest. Completing the interior is a family bathroom, perfect for a long soak after a day outdoors. The garden is designed across several levels, with seating for wildlife-watching and taking in the scenery. Off-road parking is available for one car.
The charming market town of Sedbergh is renowned for its variety of new and second-hand book shops, as well as welcoming pubs and variety of local food and drink. Located within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and just 11 miles from Kendal and the edge of the Lake District, it’s also a brilliant base for outdoor activities, from hiking and cycling to fishing and horse riding. The local golf club is just 1 mile away. For a change of pace, the National Trust’s medieval Sizergh House is 14 miles away.
