Please note this property can sleep up to 9 guests. Make a group getaway to this handsome holiday home at Mealsgate in picturesque rural Cumbria. Sleeping nine guests, the three-bedroom cottage has been stylishly refurbished to offer sumptuous accommodation and a gorgeous lawned garden. Venture just 5 miles to the picturesque Lake District or 10 miles to the coast at Allonby.

Wander inside via the hallway to emerge in accommodation with a sophisticated, understated finish. From the dining room, where you can light the wood burner on crisp days as you congregate for meals, follow the steps down into the lounge. Stoke up a second wood burner here as you play pool, watch the Smart TV or gaze out of the windows from the plump sofas. The chic kitchen, also decorated in calming tones, is at this level too, along with a family shower room and the utility room. A family bedroom, with a double bed and a single, is also conveniently positioned on the ground floor. Make your way up to the second floor to discover two additional family bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, a single and an en-suite shower room, and the other with a double bed and a single. An opulent family bathroom, with a walk-in shower and free-standing bath, is also here. Spread out into the garden on glorious summer days. Dine alfresco, bask beside the fire pit or wander over to the games room for a darts tournament. There is private parking for four cars.

Lace up your walking boots and step straight out to follow scenic footpaths through your verdant surroundings. Drive 8 miles to find yourselves beside beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake. Plan a day out to Keswick, 15 miles away, to browse in the shops, book a seat at the Theatre by the Lake or stroll along the shores of Derwentwater.

Wonderful stay beautifully renovated cottage in a perfect location We stayed between Christmas and New Year as a family of five, along with our two dogs, and had a fantastic experience. The cottage has been newly renovated and is beautifully presented, offering a spacious and high-quality finish throughout. The living room, which houses the Read morepool table, was both comfortable and welcoming and quickly became the heart of the house. It was a great space for relaxing together after days out. The kitchen was very well equipped and all of the bedrooms were comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. Overall, the property is finished to a very high standard. The location is ideal for exploring the Lake District, with plenty of great walks and attractions nearby. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this cottage and would happily return. Hide
