Cosy up in front of the wood burner after long walks along the shores of picturesque Ullswater. This single-storey, two-bedroom Pooley Bridge cottage is the perfect place to unwind together between your Lake District excursions. Ideal for two couples or a small family, it has an enclosed garden, making it perfect for your four-legged friend as well.

Wander inside to find yourselves in a hall where you can unlace your walking boots and hang your jackets. Head through to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee to enjoy with a slice of Grasmere gingerbread. The adjoining lounge/diner has a table for your holiday snacks and meals, and a sofa where you can enjoy a glass of wine afterwards, with the French doors to the garden open on fine days. Warm your toes on chilly evenings in the glorious heat of the wood burner in the lounge. Here you can recline in front of the Smart TV on those evenings you choose not to head to a friendly Pooley Bridge pub. As the day draws to a close and you feel ready to turn in for the night, your two bedrooms, a lovely double and a comfortable twin, are conveniently located on the same floor. There is also a family bathroom, where you can choose between a long soak in the bath or a quick shower. Carry your meals out into the garden on summer days. Take in the views towards the fells as your contented canine potters about. There is private parking for two cars.

Pack a few sandwiches and stride out along the 20-mile Ullswater Way, which leads all the way round the lake. Board an Ullswater Steamer in Pooley Bridge and take in the sights from the water.

Just home from our first stay at The Nook, certainly wont be our last. Lovely welcoming bungalow in centre of PB but also very quiet & peaceful. Room on drive for two cars albeit a bit tight. Id suggest unpacking before driving right in. Comfortable quality furnishings and any amount of kitchen utensils if you needed to cook. Lovely welcome packageRead more on arrival (thank you).
