Lose yourselves in the incredible scenery of Matterdale when you gaze out from this 18th-century stone retreat in the Lake District. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom stone cottage, which is 5 miles from Pooley Bridge, has picture windows that pull the panoramic views right inside. Gaze out towards the fells from the beautiful garden on summer days. Relax with your nearest and dearest in front of a roaring wood burner in the beamed lounge on winter evenings.
Tear yourselves away from your surroundings to enter this characterful hideaway. From the hall, wander through to the open-plan kitchen/diner with its spectacular glass wall overlooking rolling Matterdale. Prepare home-cooked meals here, then serve up at the table against the beautiful backdrop. Make your way through to the cosy lounge after dinner to fire up the wood burner and watch the Smart TV or indulge in a sing-song around the piano. There is also a tranquil study to retreat to for a few quiet moments. When the stars appear over the glorious Lake District countryside, take one of the two staircases up to the first floor of the cottage. At the top of one, you will find a king-size bedroom, a twin and a family bathroom, while the other leads up to a super-king-size and a king-size, each with an en-suite bathroom. Spill out into the lawned garden to soak up the summer sunshine and feel at one with nature. Dine under blue skies and look over towards Mell Fell and Blencathra. There is private parking for three cars.
Make your way 2.5 miles from the cottage to see picturesque Aira Force Waterfall. Board an Ullswater Steamer to enjoy the beauty of the glassy lake from the water. Attempt a section of the 20-mile Ullswater Way that circles the entire lake.
