Nestled in the quaint village of Troutbeck, just 4 miles from Ambleside and 3 from Windermere, this beautifully rural yet well-connected retreat promises peace, relaxation and easy access to countless walking routes throughout the Lakes. Accommodating up to six guests and welcoming dogs, the property is designed for comfort, with plush mattresses, soft linens and luxury touches – including two roll-top bathtubs – ensuring a stay where wellbeing is woven into every detail.

Head to nearby Ambleside, a charming market town of cobbled lanes and historic architecture. Set out from your doorstep to reach Stock Ghyll Force (2.5 miles) and Wansfell Pike (1.5 miles) before circling down into Ambleside to refuel in a welcoming local pub or independent restaurant.

Rosemount is a lovely property which you can tell has been lovingly restored by the present owners. Individual character with everything you need for a great Lake District holiday. Beautiful countryside, secluded yet so close to the main centres and within walking distance to 2 excellent pubs as well. Highly recommend.

The perfect Easter retreat for our 30th wedding anniversary. We were joined by our adult children and all had a wonderful week, with fell walks from the door, fine food, local pubs and home cooked meals. A genuine gem of a home .

Lovely cottage in the most beautiful surroundings, extremely well equipped kitchen and nice little foodie gifts well received from the owner as we stayed over Christmas. (We left our tree so someone can use it next year!) Upstairs has been beautifully refurbished with comfortable beds and quality furniture and linen. Bathrooms are beautiful. DownRead morestairs is more rustic and reasonably roomy. The AGA is marmite, we hated it, others will love it Im sure. The hot tap wasnt our friend either and there is no kettle as understandably the owners are trying to be eco conscious. Handy outhouse with washing machine and tumble dryer and to dry off pooches before they enter as the house is extremely well kept. Lovely enclosed gardens perfect for dogs and relaxing in the summer months where your views will be outstanding. Parking provided but very tight so anything larger than a small SUV will struggle but there is parking at cottages at the top of the road for anything that doesnt fall into that category. Mortal Man pub is a lovely, family run traditional pub a 5 minute walk away with very friendly staff and is super dog friendly. Food ok too. The Queens Head is also good although it is a chain, again, lovely staff and very dog friendly. Great walks surrounding the area and a short drive to lovely Bowness on Windermere and Ambleside. Enjoy your stay! Hide

What a wonderful house! It is beautifully furnished and really well equipped with everything you might need during your stay. The views are stunning, the fire cosy, the beds comfy - absolutely everything was perfect. There are gorgeous walks right from the doorstep and the two (very) local pubs were a welcome retreat at the end of each day. HRead moreaving a separate utility room / boot room was a huge bonus as it was quite muddy on our walks, and being able to hose the dog down was great too! We absolutely loved our stay at Rosemount and can highly recommend it to others. Hide
