The house was in an ideal location for our family holiday, the views from the upstairs were lovely overlooking the lake. We had a wonderful week but considering the cost of the stay, some areas were very much lacking. It's a house for 8 yet there were only 6 outdoor chairs and none provided on the veranda so it was a completely wasted space and a sRead morehame we couldn't enjoy evenings out there. The upstairs was a great area, however with no properly opening windows, the inside temperature was unbearable. We were lucky to have such great weather but being in the kitchen was so uncomfortable and hot. With no air con, fans or opening windows, it was a major flaw in the property. The cleanliness was not up to standard, we had to clean tables and washing up areas before we started. Some essentials were also absent - no where to dry laundry, this should be an essential. Basics like dish cloths and a sweeping brush were also missing. A smart TV is provided but no arial and no working apps so without our own firestick, we wouldn't have been able to watch anything. We did have a lovely week but a few simple changes would have made all the difference to our stay.. Hide

The house is in a lovely location and we had a lovely week cycling. We were disappointed with the standard of cleaning, limited kitchen equipment and lack of instructions for TV, tumble dryer and bathroom radiator. One guest, albeit a light sleeper, could hear plant room noise above her bedroom during the night.

A beautiful and high standard of property. All the rooms were large and accommodating. The lounge being upstairs provided a wonderful outlook onto lake Windermere. Everyday the changing weather brought a different view. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need. The use of EV charger was a wonderful extra.

A lovely and well equipped property with amazing views of Lake Windermere. This made for a very comfortable stay. A car is essential for this location but electric charges at the property made this very convienient.

5 stars all round! We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful, newly renovated holiday home. A delightful Christmas welcome pack awaited us and the beautifully decorated Christmas tree meant we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The house was perfect for all six of us, with four bedrooms all featuring en-suite bathrooms. The upsidRead moree-down layout provides idyllic views of Lake Windermere and the open-plan lounge and kitchen meant we could still socialise while preparing Christmas dinner. We arrived in three cars and there was more than enough space on the driveway. An added bonus was the free EV charging available at any time of day, which was essential as we didnt come across any local fast chargers. We also brought our two medium-sized Labradoodles. The garden and driveway are completely secure with fencing and a gate, so we had no worries about them getting out. The house also benefits from stair gates and a space to leave dogs downstairs if you choose to go out without them, although we didnt as there are so many lovely walks nearby. Parking at Ferry Nab offers a beautiful lakeside walk into Bowness. We would definitely recommend booking and would happily stay again. Hide
