Whether you're a walker, hiker, climber, nature spotter, or cyclist, the cottage's location in the north-eastern corner of the Lake District is ideal for exploring. The property is part of a small complex, with a pub opposite, where you can enjoy some local fare.

Step into this light and spacious property, which has been thoughtfully and stylishly designed with nature-themed decor. The entrance hall has a staircase leading up to the first floor, where you’ll find a bright and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. There is plenty of comfortable seating, making this the perfect spot to gather, unwind and watch a movie on the Smart TV. At the dining table, share delicious meals and relive the day’s adventures. The kitchen, to the rear, has all the equipment you need to prepare your favourite dishes. Heading back downstairs, there is a bathroom and a choice of two bedrooms: a twin and a double. Although there is no outside space, a friendly pub is opposite, and miles of country walks are directly accessible from the door. Parking is available for one car outside the cottage.

Prepare to be captivated by the stunning landscape and immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of the local area. The Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum, Aira Force Waterfall, and the market town of Penrith are all less than 10 miles away. Lazy days can be spent discovering the breathtaking lakes at Ullswater and Derwentwater, or, for the more adventurous, scaling Helvellyn from Patterdale, again all within a 10-mile radius of the property. And when you're in the mood for shade-dappled walks or mountain bike trails, the Whinlatter Forest, just 13 miles away, is your must-visit attraction.

We had a lovely stay over 2 nights at Saddleback Cottage. It is ideally located for the walks and activities we wanted to do. The cottage was very comfortable and provided the perfect base for us. We arrived quite late on the Friday evening and the owners were great, making sure we could access the property with no issues when we did arrive.
