We enjoyed our stay at Fell Mews - its a very well appointed and spacious cottage right on the fellside, yet only 10mins from the amenities (and supermarkets) of Cockerton. It was an ideal base for walking and days out, with the Buttermere/Crummock Water area, Bassenthwaite, Keswick, and even the coast, all within very easy reach. On the odd wet afRead moreternoon the lovely communal spaces were great for spending time together. Hide

Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. The owners have taken on board your comments and have now added another fridge/freezer which more than doubles the available space. Lovely location, although slightly more remote than expected. Well furnished, although more drawer space in some of the bedrooms was needed and it was a chRead moreallenge to fit food for 8 in the fridge/freezer. The basic picnic tables outside whilst adequate was disappointing We had a blocked drain but that was fixed the same day, although the dryer required a spare part and more time. What a beautiful property. Everything is finished to such a high standard. We were a booking of 4 adults, a 14 yr old, 12 yr old and a Cockapoo in August. We were extremely comfortable throughout our stay. Plenty room for everyone. The kitchen is perfect and well equipped. Property was very clean and tidy. Highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful views from a beautiful barn conversion. A little out of the way and tricky to find but we found plenty of activities to do not too far away. Very comfy beds and well stocked kitchen.

The cottage was fabulous. Bedroom downstairs for us, the grandparents, one room upstairs very private for our Australian son and the other bedrooms all together for our younger son and family. We all said it was a great choice of cottage!

An excellent property. We were a party of eight. Our grandchildren are 6 & 9 years old and are excellent walkers. They walked to The Pheasant for Sunday Lunch - would recommend food. Otherwise, the location may limit families to use the car daily.

A great house for a family get together. The kitchen has an induction hob. We did lots of cooking and the equipment was OK, though I'd recommend bringing your own knives etc if you are a very discerning chef. There are two stairs off the main living areas without stairs gates. One to watch for toddlers, but the underfloor heating is amazing. Beds wRead moreere quite soft. The travel cot provided didn't come with a mattress, so I'd suggest bringing your own. Hide

We used the house as a meeting point with family joining us from Wales and Ireland. We had 5 adults and 2 children under 10. We were fortunate to have decent weather and enjoyed the outdoor space with spectacular views. One adult was disabled and we managed fine with the downstairs bedroom and en suite.
