  • Spacious and open plan ground-floor apartment for two in the market town of Keswick
  • Just 0.5-mile from the bustling centre with its shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants
  • Excellent walks on the doorstep around Derwentwater up Latrigg and Castlerigg Stone Circle
Property code: OC-SZ127

Located a short walk from the centre of Keswick, this is a delightful lower-ground-floor apartment (basement level bedroom) - a perfect place from which to explore this bustling market town. This spacious one-bedroom apartment is light, bright and airy. There's a wonderful open-plan living/dining/kitchen area, ideal for enjoying a meal before retiring to the sofa to relax in front of the electric flame-effect fire and large flatscreen TV. The king-size bedroom is beautiful with its feature fireplace and shutters, and the bathroom comes complete with a shower over the bath. Outside there is a dedicated parking space in the rear car park.

There's plenty to see and do in Keswick - a week here won't be enough! With a great variety of walks straight from the door, you won't know whether to head up a fell, down to the lake or into the woods first. Fancy a night off from cooking? There are plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance to take advantage of. A trip to Keswick Museum and Art Gallery is a must for anyone interested in local history, whilst those after a bit of retail therapy will love strolling round all the outdoor and independent shops on offer. If water is more your thing, adrenaline junkies can try their hand at ghyll scrambling or kayaking with one of the many adventure companies, or why not let someone else do the work and enjoy a cruise around Derwentwater on the popular launch.

If you fancy heading slightly further afield, a day out exploring the beautiful Borrowdale Valley is a must. Pack a picnic and spend a joyful few hours exploring peaceful woods, giant boulders at precarious angles (the famous Bowder Stone), secret caves (once home to 'Professor of Adventure' Millican Dalton), and secret wild-swimming pools. Head south to charming Grasmere. Stock up on their world-famous gingerbread before continuing on your scenic journey through the Lakes to bustling Ambleside and ever popular Bowness-on-Windermere.

The living accommodation is all open plan making it a wonderful sociable space for two. Arranged around a feature electric flame-effect fire, the living area has a sofa and an armchair; a flatscreen TV with Freeview, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker, or simply relax with a good book! The kitchen area is well equipped with everything that you'd need for a self-catering holiday: there's an electric oven and induction hob, built-in dishwasher and free-standing fridge/freezer, as well as a handy microwave and the much-needed kettle and toaster. The washing machine and tumble drier are housed in the utility cupboard. A glass dining table and chairs completes this open-plan room.

Along the corridor you'll find the bedroom and bathroom. The basement-level bedroom is lovely with ample natural light and contains a king-size bed, just perfect for indulging in a long lie in. A modern feature fireplace sits alongside traditional-style shutters for that perfect mix of contemporary style with a country feel. There's also a dressing table area and chest of drawers for storage. The bathroom contains a shower over the bath, WC and double wash basins. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the bath or a quick shower - perfect for invigorating tired muscles after a day out exploring.

Outside is a dedicated parking space in Chaucer House's Car Park, such a bonus so close to the town centre.

Whatever your plans for your time in Keswick, this is a wonderful place to base yourselves and a delightful apartment to retreat to after all your adventures.

What a fantastic apartment in the heart of Kesick with own private parking and only a few minutes stroll to all of the shops, pubs and restaurants. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped allowing anyone wanting to prepare/cook something to eat there. The bed was out of this world....so comfy! Fantastic apartment, absolutely spotless and well equipped. Great location only 5 minutes walk from Keswick market square. Added bonus of a parking space which meant we could walk from the door every day. We loved it that much we have already booked to come back for the same week next year!!

Well equipped, good sized flat. In great location for Keswick town centre and to access the beautiful Lake District. On site parking a bonus, especially after a long day walking on the fells!

A very cosy apartment, good location and good parking space. Impressed with the well equipped kitchen and utensils. Nice to have a shower mat, these little details made the stay. Also, plenty of storage space for all the walking gear. Liked it a lot, have booked again for next year

Spotlessly clean. Very well equipped - nice having a washer and a dryer, and both a bath and a shower. Spacious. Good parking and location. Our only gripe was that the fire alarm went off at 2 am one morning. From speaking to other occupants I gather that this is not the first time this has happened and there is a fault on the alarm. Great location, well equipped, clean. It is partially below ground so lights are required quite a lot. The bed was really comfortable and larger than king-size. No aches and pains here.

The apartment has everything you could need to make it a cosy, quiet place after an active day in Keswick and the surrounding hills and lakes. The dedicated car parking space is a real asset when you compare it to the surrounding compacted street parking in the locality. We will certainly return here in the future.
