Situated just South of the pretty Glenderamakin River, this property stands tall and proud with fantastic views towards Blencathra. This is a lovely first-floor two storey apartment with a light and spacious living area and beautiful views from all the rooms.

This is a wonderful part of the world has all sorts of interesting walks and discoveries on your doorstep. Head towards Clough Head and then Helvellyn behind the terrace and you’ll get there by walking through an open-air museum of enormous mining machinery and a mineral railway. Or follow the interesting paths to the front of the house which take you through meadows to the river and beyond to Threlkeld. Your nearest pub is in Threlkeld village (a mile or so away), in fact there are two pubs - which serve good food and drink. The apartment is ideal for summer and winter mountaineers alike with local climbing walls and ice climbing on Blencathra.

Keswick is your nearest town, 4 miles away, and has a wealth of outdoor shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as a cinema and a theatre. The lake of Derwentwater is a 5-minute walk from the town centre and here you can hire rowing boats or take a trip on the launch. It takes 10 minutes to get to Keswick by car, or you can enjoy walks along the many footpaths and cycle routes following the river with plenty of picnic spots.

The property is accessed from the rear door with the stairway leading straight ahead to the living area. At the bottom of the stairway is an area housing the washing machine and separate tumble dryer.

The living room has soft seating, TV, DVD player, dining table and chairs, and a wood burner effect electric fire set in a feature fireplace. The window from this room has spectacular views to the Glendermackin River valley and to Blencathra.

The master bedroom has a king-size bed and, Again, views to Blencathra. A baby cot and high chair, stored in this room, are available for use. Please bring your own bed linen for the cot. The second double bedroom has a king-size bed.

The kitchen on the same level is well-equipped with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The view from the kitchen is of the fells at the rear.

The lovely family bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and wash basin.

Although there is no garden as such, the small sheltered patio area has seating  - this patio area is shared with the flat below. A really good well sized cottage in a great location to access Keswick and Borrowdale but also allowing easy access to Ullswater and Windermere. The view of Blencathra to the front is spectacular and the tilt and turn windows to the front help to make the most of this view.

When we first arrived there was a horrible dog smell. There were lots of dog hair which was unpleasant. The beds aren't great, especially the one in the second bedroom. Plus side, great views of Blancather.. Properties location is great.

Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. The issues raised have now been resolved

Very comfortable cottage in a quiet location with lovely views (when the rain clouds lift!). Only 10 minutes drive from Keswick for shops etc. and there is a campsite over the road with a handy shop for essentials. The cottage is in the middle of the terrace, the door is at the back and the parking spot is at the front so its a few mins walk betweeRead moren the two, but you can drive through the back alley to drop stuff off. Behind the house is a green with a playground which our ten year old enjoyed. Hide

Perfect location. Great space. Amazing views. Lovely owner. Farmshop nearby is very handy & well stocked. No smart TV (would be perfect addition!) & 3rd bedroom is an extra not a given (Not clear from description). Although dogs are welcome there are lots of rules stated in the cottage info book that contradict that!
