Looking for a stylish character apartment in a peaceful location, with stunning views and direct access to the shores of Windermere as well as its own dedicated boat parking space? Then look no further! Let us introduce you to this beautiful holiday home, a perfect retreat with lake frontage and sleeping four people in two bright bedrooms. The large living area is delightful with high ceilings, tall windows and some lovely original features. Take a seat on the sofa and watch the flames flickering in the wood-burner or pull up a chair in front of the window and drink in the beautiful view of the lake; take a breath and feel yourself relax. The bathroom has cosy underfloor heating and a choice of bath or separate shower whilst the sleek modern kitchen has all the appliances built in, fitting in seamlessly with the living area but ready and waiting however much - or little - you like to cook. Outside the grand shared garden has mature trees and extensive lawns to enjoy as well as that rare direct lake access that is so coveted in the Lake District!

Just a short wander down a track past meadows and woodlands is the shore of beautiful Windermere. Picnic benches on a large grassy area invite you to bring along some food and perhaps your favourite tipple and make the most of this stunning location. If you're bringing along a boat, the property, benefits from a boat parking space and boat launching onto Windermere from the shingle beach. The beach also offers an enticing entrance to the lake for swimming or for children to paddle in the shallows, or they may prefer to play in the pretty stream that babbles down to the lake through the grass, either way the scene is set for an idyllic afternoon.

The property may feel a long way from anywhere, tucked away in its sylvan nook, but all the attractions of the southern Lake District are on your doorstep. The Lakes Aquarium, Motor Museum, Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway and the Windermere lake cruises are but a few minutes away. Stott Park Bobbin Mill is a neighbour and pretty little Hawkshead is just up the road. Take a boat across to Fell Foot Park for a cream tea or immerse yourself in the world of Beatrix Potter at her former home, Hill Top. How about climbing up Gummers How on the other side of Windermere to see if you can spot the property, Lakeside from the top, it's a small fell and easily reached but the views are superb. With easy access to the A590 you could also turn away from the hills and explore the southern Cumbrian coast, facing Morecombe Bay this area has a microclimate and character all of it's own - delightful!

Enter through the back door into a large hallway with plenty of space for boots and coat hooks over the radiator. To the right is the bright and spacious bathroom; fully tiled with a bath and large separate shower cubicle it is perfect for a relaxing soak at the end of the day with the added benefit of underfloor heating and a heated towel radiator to complete the experience.

Follow the hallway round to the left to find the beautiful open plan, dual-aspect living area. Cleverly divided into zones by the furnishings and united by the complimentary colours and finishes this is a peaceful and inviting room for relaxing in. In front as you walk in is the dining table comfortably seating four people for stylish meals in and to the right the kitchen units form a U shape in the corner of the room. The kitchen area has been designed to appeal to everyone with sleek fitted units and built in appliances. Keen chefs will find all the equipment they need arranged in the ample drawers and cupboards plus plenty of worktop space to prepare food to cook on the electric hob or in the eye level oven and grill, and a dishwasher and microwave tucked away out of sight. There is also a built in washer dryer and large fridge/freezer.

Beyond the kitchen two-seater sofas face a large stone fireplace with wood-burner for cosy, comfortable evenings in front of the fire. Grab a book from the selection on the shelves beside the fireplace or watch the Smart TV, you can get the usual Freeview channels or log in to your own Netflix or Prime account. There is also a box of children's toys and books to keep the little ones entertained.

During the day the perfect spot to sit has been created in front of the window looking out over the lawns, fields and woods to the lake, two chairs with a footstool, coffee table and mAgazines invite you to sit down, relax and enjoy the ambience and the view in this lovely retreat. The original panelling round the window, the parquet floor beneath your feet and the peaceful view makes for a timeless elegance and a real connection to all the people who have sat and enjoyed this space too. Deer are often seen in the meadows in the mornings and evenings - what could be more tranquil?

Leading off the far side of the living room are the two bright bedrooms, to the left is the king-size bedroom sharing the beautiful views down to the lake with the living area. A chest of drawers and hanging space provide storage and there is a full length mirror, bedside table and lamps over the bed. With a second window looking over grass and trees this room is beautifully light and serene with just the sound of birdsong to listen to as you wake.

Next door is a twin room (which can be made into a super-king upon request) with window looking out on to the side garden with lawn and woodland. Both beds have bedside tables and lights over the bed and there is hanging space, shelves, a chest of drawers plus a mirror.

Heading outside exit the apartment through the front door into a shared lobby and then out into the garden. The large gardens are mainly laid to lawn with mature trees befitting the surroundings of the mansion. A bench on the front terrace enjoys the stunning view across the lower lawn and fields to the lake with boats moored in the bay and the wooded slopes of Gummers How beyond. Beyond the formal garden take a walk down the track to the lake, there are meadows and woodlands to the left that you can explore at your own risk before you arrive on the lakeshore. At the lakeshore a natural shelving beach provides access to the lake for boats, paddling and swimming and there is also a 40ft jetty offering access to the lake. A grass area fronted by a timber walkway has picnic benches and plenty of space for children to play whilst adults can just drink in the peace and the amazing views, a stunning spot for picnics, BBQ's and making lasting memories.

Apartment was very well equipped and comfortable for up to 4 people. Location on the lake was beautiful and much appreciated for cooling off by our dog given we had unbelievably sunny weather (hardly a cloud in the sky for 5 days). Perfect property for anyone looking to use the lake for their own boat/kayak/paddleboard etc.

Delightful holiday retreat with so much to do right on your doorstep. We took our boat as you can sail using the slipway directly onto lake Windermere. Walked from the estate up to High Dam Tarn, powered up Old Man Coniston, squeezed in a challenge - the Via Ferrata Xtreme at Honister Slate Mine. The accommodation had everything we needed, super coRead moremfy beds, good layout, well equipped kitchen and spotlessly clean. It's quiet and the view is the jewel in the crown. Outstanding, recommend yes. Hide

The location of the property is fantastic. I cannot fault the private jetty area available to guests by the Lake. We used this area so much for relaxing around the Lake and kayaking. So peaceful and private. The apartment is well equipped and generally quite modern but could be better with some finishing touches such as nicer looking internal doorsRead more, more storage solutions in the master bedroom and a larger TV in the lounge. Overall the location was why we visited the Lakes. Hide
