Blessed with a fantastic position close to the centre of Keswick is this spacious and well-appointed cottage for six to eight people. Nestled on a charming residential street in the heart of town and benefiting from private parking for up to three cars and a lovely enclosed garden it's a stylish haven from which you can explore this marvellous area. The house has plenty of well thought through social spaces and flexible accommodation to help those with more limited mobility. The owners have made the most of the building's lovely 1930s features while bringing the cottage right into the 21st century with modern decor and well chosen photography.

Keswick is a vibrant and bustling town with a vast choice of things to do for visitors. It's well known as the adventure capital of the Lake District so if you'd like to test your sense of adventure there are plenty of outdoor companies to help you to find your wild side. The fell walking and cycling opportunities are second to none. From high mountain tops to gentler low level routes there's something to suit everyone here. There's plenty of space to store bikes securely in the detached garage too. The shores of picturesque Derwentwater are an easy potter from the house where you can catch one of the launches that wind their way around the lake. Alternatively have a paddle or a wild swim!

There's a host of different things to do for families with an indoor climbing wall with 'hard play' area and a leisure pool with a huge slide both within an easy stroll of the cottage. For the adults the town has plenty of indoor charms to offer too with excellent eateries, characterful pubs, award winning museums, not to mention a great range of independent and outdoor shops and a regular market. It boasts its own art deco cinema and the stunningly situated Theatre by the Lake which shows a varied programme of drama, comedy, music and events throughout the year. All of this within easy strolling distance of Kildonan House.

On arrival at the house guests enter the entrance hall via the front door, up a step, with its gorgeous art deco windows. To the right is the light elegant main living room. It has fresh, bright decor enhanced by the lovely large bay window, two deep comfy sofas and an armchair arranged around the coal-effect gas fire and TV. Guests can make use of the Blu-ray player and Apple TV for entertainment. Across the main hallway is the second living room. Another lovely light room, this space is ideal if you have teens or tweens in your party who would like to commandeer their own space, no more arguments over the remote control! The room has a sofa, snuggler chair and electric fire, a Smart TV with Freesat and a Blu-ray player.

Moving through to the back of the house the space has been utilised incredibly well to make the most of the period features and the available light. The open-plan kitchen and dining room is a gorgeous modern space with exposed beams in the dining area. The kitchen is very well-equipped with a five-ring induction hob, a built-in eye-height fan oven and grill, a large fridge/freezer, microwave, bluetooth speaker, dishwasher and all the crockery and cookware you'll need for your stay. The dining area has plenty of space for your group to enjoy long post dinner conversations planning your Keswick adventures.

Also in the back of the house is a lovely downstairs shower room with a large enclosure and separate WC, once Again making life easier for members of the party who struggle with stairs. There's bags of utility space too with a washing machine, tumble dryer, a Belfast sink and plenty of storage space for muddy boots and coats. Opening out from the dining area is a lovely conservatory with a small sofa and an armchair, it's ideal for bringing in more light but it's also a comfy space to enjoy a book or a quiet morning cuppa.

Heading upstairs via the light spacious landing you reach the bedrooms and family bathroom. At the front of the house is the first of the king-size bedrooms. It has a USB charging point, a wardrobe and dresser for storage as well as one of the magnificent bay windows looking out on to the street at the front and the peaks in the distance beyond Keswick's rooftops. The twin room benefits from the same lovely view and has a wardrobe and dresser for storage too. Across the landing to the back of the house is the second king-size bedroom. It has a modern fresh feel about it with a wardrobe and bedside tables with storage space and lovely views to Skiddaw and Latrigg. The family bathroom is on this side of the house, it's another spacious room with a bath and curved shower enclosure with a power shower. Also on this floor is another separate WC.

The cottage benefits from excellent outside space and private parking which is such a bonus in a house this close to the centre of Keswick. The conservatory opens out on to a delightful enclosed back garden with raised flower beds and a patio with outdoor seating. Perfect for a sunny evening dinner al fresco.
