As the name suggests, this cottage is a wonderful place for two people to enjoy a fabulous holiday in beautiful surroundings. The first floor accommodation feels both luxurious but also wonderfully homely. Cook up a feast in the well-equipped kitchen/diner before retiring to the lovely living room to relax in front of the wood burner. With a bespoke wood super-king-size bed, the bedroom is a real treat, perfect for a holiday lie in or two! If you prefer, the bedroom can be made up as a twin upon request. The shower room is just as fantastic with its luxurious monsoon shower. There is private parking for two cars at the cottage, a real bonus so close to the centre of Grasmere. For guest use only, there is an Easee One, type 2 untethered 7kW electric vehicle charger. There is no charge for using the EV charger, but you will need to provide your own charging lead compatible with a type 2 charging socket.

The centre of Grasmere is a short walk from Longsyke Retreat. This pretty village is rightly popular with visitors and locals alike. There are a great selection of independent shops for those who'd like to indulge in some retail therapy and some lovely independent cafes for that all important coffee and homemade cake pitstop. Fancy an evening off from cooking? Treat yourselves to a hearty meal in a convivial atmosphere at popular Tweedies Bar or head to the quirky Jumble Room for some delicious home cooked dishes. There are plenty of wonderful walks nearby too. Head up local fell Loughrigg for stunning panoramic views or take the walk from the village up to Easedale Tarn, a beautiful spot for a picnic lunch. Both dogs and humans will love exploring the woodland paths at White Moss.

Take a scenic drive south from Grasmere to Ambleside where you can treat yourselves to dinner and a movie. Enjoy a cruise round Lake Windermere or hop on the ferry to Hawkshead across the water, another charming village that was once home to Beatrix Potter. Why not spend a day exploring the magnificent Langdale Valley? With its rugged mountains and peaceful tarns, it's a must for any avid fell walker. Head up Lingmoor Fell for stunning, panoramic views of the lakes. Stop off at one of the traditional pubs on your way back for a hearty meal and refreshing drink.

Everything has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible with a generous welcome hamper, complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms.

On the ground floor is a handy entrance hall, ideal for unloading wet coats and boots before heading up to the first floor where you'll find the fabulous accommodation.

First up is the well-equipped kitchen/dining room. With a range cooker that has two electric ovens, grill, gas and ceramic hobs, a handy microwave, fridge/freezer, useful washer/dryer and dishwasher, there'll be no fighting over who has to do the washing up here - though you might not mind once you've seen the views from the kitchen sink! The large wooden dining table in the middle of the room means you can keep the chef company. Also perfectly suited for spreading out maps and guide books, why not plan your next day's adventures whilst enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal? Next up we have the bright living room. Relax on the corner sofa in front of the cosy wood burner. The wall mounted Smart TV, perfect for romantic evenings in.

Onwards to the bedroom. A gorgeous super-king room (that can be made up as a twin on request), decorated in calming greens, you're sure to feel instantly relaxed in here. The feature bed has been handcrafted from solid wood and there are plenty of homely touches. Bring your morning cuppa back to bed and indulge in a long lie in, catch up on some TV or simply enjoy a peaceful few moments relaxing in beautiful surroundings. As well as the WC and wash basin, the shower room has a fantastic shower cubicle with luxurious modern rainfall shower, perfect for reinvigorating tired muscles after a day out exploring.

Dogs over 12 months old are also in for a treat; with a generous welcome pack all to themselves and a wonderful enclosed garden to potter in.

The delightful enclosed patio has outdoor seating; equally suited to a morning coffee or evening G&T, it's a lovely spot to relax, unwind and feel the stresses of everyday life drifting away.

Exceptional cottage in an excellent location. Quiet even though next to the road with a little sitting out area that caught the last of the sun. Everything was great quality and spotlessly clean, only 2 of us and the dog so we felt we had loads of space. I enjoyed seeing the sheep and lambs from the window seat with my brew in the morning and knowiRead moreng we could charge the car as needed took any worries of a flat battery away. Welcome pack was a nice touch although, as vegans, we only used the bread and jams (we did find some friendly neighbours to give the milk and butter to though!). Really hope to be able to stay again. A spacious, comfortable and lovingly cared for holiday home with central heating and a log burner, ideal for a winter stay. Things we really enjoyed were: - the big dining kitchen, equipped for six (though we had just the first floor as there were only the two of us) - a generous welcome basket and card - our own front entrance and stairs witRead moreh seating and lots of space for boots and coats to dry - only a 5-minute walk from the village centre (Mathilde's cafe breakfasts and hot chocolate recommended!) - bus stop right outside for Keswick, Rydal, Ambleside, Windermere, Kendal, and lots of stops in between for end-to-end walks. The buses are frequent even in January and we didn't need to use the car at all during our week's stay. Hide

A super property! Incredibly clean, well presented, well kitted out and comfortable. A glorious spot in Grasmere with views to Helm Crag from the kitchen. So many great walks from the doorstep every which way and great restaurants (Jumble Room the best!) in strolling distance. Perfect!! We would love to come back. (Our dogs agree too!:))
