Property code: OC-SZ337

If you're looking for stylish yet comfortable accommodation that's just a short walk from the centre of Keswick, then you're sure to be quite taken with this cottage, a beautifully presented mid-terrace Lakeland stone cottage. The living room is light, bright and airy thanks to its feature bay window, and the fabulous modern dining kitchen is perfect for whipping up a feast or catching up round the dining table. Also on the ground floor is a handy utility room and a luxurious bathroom, complete with a shower over the bath. On the first floor you'll find two of the three bedrooms: the gorgeous master king-size with en-suite shower room, and a lovely bedroom with three-quarter width bed. Up another flight of stairs to the second floor and the cosy attic twin. To the rear of the property is a delightful garden, with stunning views and outdoor furniture, you're sure to enjoy dining alfresco out here.

With the centre of Keswick a few minutes' walk away, you're perfectly placed for exploring everything that this bustling market town has to offer. Enjoy a spot of retail therapy before stopping for lunch at one of the many independent cafes on offer. Stroll through Fitz Park to Keswick Museum and Art Gallery, a must for anyone with an interest in local history. Why not take in a film at the art deco cinema or a play at the aptly named Theatre by the Lake? Fancy a night off from cooking? Enjoy a hearty meal at one of the town's traditional pubs, or treat yourselves to some fine dining at a local resturant.

For fresh air and interesting walks, you're spoiled for choice! Head up Latrigg straight from the front door. Take a picnic and enjoy the view from the top - the panoramic views over the town are certainly worth the effort! If you're feeling fit and strong then continue onwards from here up Skiddaw, England's fourth highest mountain. Derwentwater is the perfect place to enjoy a day by (or on) the water. Hire a canoe or rowing boat and take to the water - or hitch a ride on the launch and let someone else do the hard work as you cruise round the lake. After something a bit more adrenaline fuelled? Sign up for an activity with one of the local adventure companies; try ghyll scrambling, canyoning or the via ferrata.

For a beautiful cottage in a great location, you need look no further than this retreat. Six stone steps take you to the front door and the warm light living room beyond. Comfortable seating provides a convivial setting around the gas-effect fire. There is a Smart TV with Netflix, plus a choice of books to borrow. The views towards Fitz Park and the mountains beyond through the lovely bay window are stunning.

The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and plenty of storage space. A fabulous round glass table takes centre stage in the kitchen providing dining for five (or six people at a squeeze). The utility room beyond the kitchen has a washer-drier, second sink and handy boot and coat storage. Through the utility room is the elegant, modern, family bathroom which has a shower over the bath.

Stairs lead to the first floor. The first bedroom is a large single (or small double) - it has a three-quarter size bed and views out to the garden. The second bedroom is the master bedroom - lovely and large it has a king-size bed, plenty of space, views over the fields towards Borrowdale and an en-suite shower room.

From this floor, steep stairs lead to the attic bedroom - a room with a sloping roof, fantastic views of Skiddaw and two single beds.

Outside at the back of the cottage is a lovely garden. Accessed by steps directly behind the house, the garden enjoys gorgeous views towards Latrigg and Skiddaw from its elevated position. Out here you'll find a bench and table, perfect for dining alfresco with a beautiful backdrop. The garden is not enclosed so dogs should remain on a lead, but there is a dog-friendly park immediately opposite!

Parking is at the front of the cottage, on the road.

Lovely place to stay with a very nice walk down the river into town taking about 10 mins. The house had all the facilities we needed, very clean and the garden is beautiful in the springtime with a nice seating area. its worth noting the bathroom is on the ground floor and the steps to the top room are steep.

An excellent base, with a modern kitchen and cosy living space. Easy access to Keswick town either on foot or by car but limited parking in front of the cottage.

This is not a dog friendly accommodation. There is no enclosed garden, also the dog is not allowed up stairs with you. Had this been in the need to know I would not have booked. The steps leading up To both cottage and back garden are steep with no rails . If you have no animals and are fit , this accommodation is great and in good locations

This is a lovely house which was very clean and well equipped and is in a great location for getting into town, enjoying Fitz park and easy access out of the town. The only downside was the size of the fridge in the kitchen which having done a Tesco delivery was too small to take the food for our family of 5. It would be nice to have sufficient friRead moredge space given the property caters for 5. The stairs to the top floor are very steep which might be a consideration if you have young kids. Hide

Our 2nd time staying at Meadow Cottage, really lovely home away from home. Location couldn't be better, the cottage has all you need. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely, comfortable cottage, very clean and well equipped. The position is great, just a short walk into town across the park, and the lake is easily walkable too. Plenty of good places to eat, and great walks from the doorstep.

Meadow Cottage was beautiful - a real home from home. All of the rooms were decorated and furnished to a very high standard, and yet it still felt cosy and homely. The courtyard garden, backing onto the fells, was just gorgeous. The location is perfect, approx a 15 minute walk into town across a lovely park. We would highly recommend staying in thiRead mores gem of a cottage. Hide
