Unlock peaceful tranquillity on the banks of Ullswater with a stay in a characterful cottage in the quiet Cumbrian village of Pooley Bridge. This charming property – an ideal base for families of four or couples seeking a little extra space – features a fantastic lawned garden with the River Eamont flowing through it. Sit back with a drink as the river rushes by or hop on a paddleboard and make your way towards the lake. Beyond water sports, the surrounding Lake District National Park offers endless opportunities for outdoor adventure, from hiking and mountain biking to climbing rugged peaks.

Tastefully decorated with refined touches and homely charm, this cheerful cottage is the perfect place to unwind. Leave your coats and boots in the porch and make yourself at home in the open-plan lounge, kitchen, and dining area, which offers direct access to the garden. Pretty French doors lead out to a spacious lawned garden, complete with a summerhouse for enjoying those soothing river views. As evening falls, bring the gathering indoors and get cosy by the wood burner. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms – a double and a bunk room – along with a shower room. There's also a cosy chill-out/office space tucked beneath the eaves, accessed via a ladder, perfect for reading, relaxing, or catching up on work. Parking for one car is available in front of the cottage on a first come, first served basis.

Pooley Bridge is a quintessentially Lakeland village, dotted with welcoming country pubs and surrounded by scenic walking routes. Stroll around Ullswater and admire the peaceful waters and the dramatic Aira Force Waterfall (6 miles away). For nearby hill walks, Little Mell Fell (4 miles) and Great Mell Fell (8 miles) are within easy reach, while the mighty Blencathra (13 miles) offers a more challenging hike for adventure-seekers. On a rest day, explore the delightful market town of Penrith (5.5 miles) for shops, pubs and eateries.

Only parking for 1 car - so not off road parking as advertised. Can park in the village or the field which is 8 per night. Garden is not secure for small dogs - large dogs would be ok. Beautiful little cottage. A bit small for 4 adults plus dogs . Really clean and tidy and such a peaceful place overlooking the stream
