Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom, stone retreat sits within a leafy Edwardian estate 5 miles from Coniston village. Beautifully refurbished, it offers features including a wood burner and a lovely, private, terraced garden.

Enter to find the cottage offers comfortable, welcoming, reverse-level accommodation to make the most of its superb setting. Head up to the first floor to your open-plan lounge/diner to unwind together over delicious meals made with the fresh Lakeland produce you have sourced. Open the doors to the balcony on fine summer days to take in the woodland views. Amble through to the snug to sink back into comfortable seating as the wood burner crackles gently. Gather in here to watch the Smart TV or listen to music via the Bluetooth speaker. The cottage encompasses a well-equipped kitchen to ensure you have everything you need to help you cater for your group. There is also a utility room at ground-floor level. A family bathroom and a family shower room are also downstairs. These are conveniently located for your bedrooms which include two doubles, a twin and a king-size that can also be made up as a twin if discussed at booking. Savour the sunshine and serenity in your private garden as you light the BBQ and dine outside. Stroll through the trees to the private lakeside area that is shared only with other guests staying on the estate. There is parking for four cars with this property.

Hire canoes in Coniston so you can paddle out on the water under your own steam. You can also take cruises out on the lake, including trips to take you past Wild Cat Island, famously featured in Arthur Ransome’s novel Swallows and Amazons.

Fantastic cottage nestled in the trees just a stone throw walk away from the lake. Very well thought out property with no expense spared, everything you need is provided. Fully refurbished to a high standard. We would definitely book again.

Copper Beech Lodge is a holiday cottage located at the southern end of Coniston Water in the Lake District. We have been visiting this charming place since our children were young, appreciating the proximity to the lake and the stunning hills that encircle the property. Recently, we returned with our teenage grandchildren, who have also enjoyed theRead moreir time here as they grew up. Copper Beech has undergone a significant renovation following severe storm damage caused by a large tree falling on it. The cottage was delightful prior to the storm, but the owners have tastefully enhanced and improved every aspect of it, showcasing their vision and dedication. I am confident that this will not be our last visit, nor our sons family. My wife and I cherish many fond memories at Copper Beech and wholeheartedly recommend it. Hide
