For lake adventures, at Lake Windermere (2 miles) you can take a scenic cruise. History buffs will love looking around Wray Castle, a National Trust treasure 10 miles away. Ambleside (1.5 miles) has charming shops and cafés – why not treat yourself to high tea?

The cottage was in the most fantastic location, beautiful surroundings, interesting walks immediately from the front door with site seeing things (like the cave) being in easy walking distance. Ambleside is in walking distance and provided a lovely day out.
