Highlights are the lovely garden, amazing location, well equipped kitchen, including a washer dryer and having easy parking. Lots of great walks nearby, a helpful NT volunteer helped guide us to a lot of them, and the village itself was lovely. We had a lovely stay at Vale view with our children. Great and central location for exploring the area. Bedrooms comfortable and the upside down layout means you can enjoy the wonderful view when relaxing at home. Thank you for a lovely stay.

On the plus side, the cottage is well-equipped, convenient for Hawkshead village and the seating area in the garden is nice. It was also cool on the hot days we were there. However, the proximity of the bedrooms (both on the ground-floor) to the main road into the village (it's no more than a couple of metres) meant a lot of noise from traffic and,Read more on Friday and Saturday, people heading back from the village to the youth hostel. The bedrooms also felt slightly damp. Hide
