What a wonderful location, a view that you could simply sit and look all day at, truly wonderful. Quiet, not overlooked, great garden with a resident hare for entertainment, lovely pub with good food just a few minutes walk away, fantastic walks from doorstep and also some of the best Lake District fell walks within short drives. Quick to get to KeRead moreswick and Cockermouth for provisions. Lovely clean property with 2 bathrooms which is handy, good sized rooms, great kitchen and very well equipped. And to top it all incredibly helpful hosts. We will definitely be staying again. Hide

I cant help but smile when writing this review, as we enjoyed our week at Woodend so much. The property is in a wonderful location, and has simply stunning views, especially from the lounge, which looks down Crummock Water and to the fells beyond. We found it to be comfortable, warm and well equipped, but we didnt spend too much time inside, as weRead more were spoilt for walks from the front door. The fabulous Kirkstile Inn a short walk away is an added bonus, with some great home cooked food. Finally, the owners went out of their way to ensure our safe arrival during the onset of Storm Bert, which was very much appreciated. We are already planning to return in 2025. Hide
