A unique cottage nestled in the pretty village of Ravenglass near the coastal edge of the Lake District National Park. This two-bedroom home is located on the platform of the narrow-gauge railway and is perfect for a group of four friends who love anything to do with trains.
Once a railway cottage, this single-storey, characterful home has been thoughtfully designed and decorated with charming touches that nods to its history. Inside, you will find a practical kitchen to rustle up tasty meals, and a wonderful open-plan lounge/diner. Eat together around the dining table before kicking back and relaxing on the sofas as you keep warm in front of the wood burner, and watch the trains come and go. Down the hall, you will find the two bedrooms. A master bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite shower room, and a twin bedroom which faces the rear of the property. Both bedrooms are equipped with Smart TVs, and completing the accommodation is a stylish shower room. At the rear of the property is a lovely patio area with seating where you can enjoy morning coffees and evening tipples. Out of the front, you will immediately find yourself on the railway platform of the narrow-gauge steam train that transports passengers to Eskdale.
Ravenglass is a picturesque village with a few shops and pubs, but its main attraction is the heritage railway that leads through the scenic countryside and valley to Eskdale. There are also several historic attractions to visit, such as Muncaster Castle (1.5 miles) and the Roman Bath House (0.5 miles). You can also take a walk along the coastline or try the challenging hike up England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike (11 miles).
