Enjoy everything Grasmere has to offer from this stylish base, a spacious three-bedroom house close to local eateries, shops and attractions. Head out on memorable walks nearby, including a water-side trail around Grasmere’s lake (0.5 miles), one the District’s smaller lakes, before heading back for an evening tipple in the property’s charming garden.

The house is sleek and stylish with contemporary interiors and a homely feel. Go through to the lounge, a beautiful, light space where you can sink into the sofas as your favourite film plays on the Smart TV. Prepare tasty fare in the kitchen/diner, which has everything you need plus a coffee machine for your morning cuppa, and enjoy meals together at the rustic, farmhouse-style dining table. Completing the ground floor is the first of three bedrooms; an airy family room with a double bed and a requestable single bed, as well as an en-suite shower room. Upstairs is a gorgeous king-size bedroom and an inviting double, plus a well-appointed bathroom and WC that complete the interior. Outside, relax in the wonderful garden that wraps around the property, surrounded by trees and boasting a greenhouse, this is the ideal spot to unwind.

Head out for afternoon tea, lunch or dinner in Grasmere’s excellent choice of cafes and restaurants, just 300 metres away. You’ll also stumble across the village’s famous gingerbread shop dating back to 1854 (0.5 miles). Explore the famous poet William Wordsworth’s home, Dove Cottage (0.5 miles), now a museum devoted to his life and work. Set out for beautiful walks from the door, head to Faeryland Grasmere (0.5 miles) where you can hire a rowing boat on Lake Grasmere and enjoy afternoon tea in the most incredible setting.

We had a lovely stay at Greenheys with elderly parents. The location is perfect, just a short walk into the village which they managed very well. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house was really warm and cosy and felt like home We were blessed with great weather so could enjoy relaxing in the lovely garden, a real sun trap and very quiRead moreet. Welcome biscuits, rocky Road chocolate and coffee greeted us at this very comfortable house. The location is great for exploring the North and south lakes.

Lovely few days at Greenheys cottage. It location is excellent. The cottage is well equipped but a little outdated. We had problems trying to turn the heating off on what has been the hottest weekend this year!

Great base for walking and Grasmere is a lovely village with lots of interesting shops. Really cosy house, warm and comfortable we had a great family Christmas there with lots of walks and evenings in the cosy living room playing games and watching films.

although warm and comfortable, thought that it could benefit from a make over - dated the garden seemed over grown and needed attention the waste bin was emptied, but the recycling bin was almost full - probably christmas period limited collection

For location the house is a great place. Simple to walk to cafe's and restaurants and also start local walks from the doorstep. For comfort, the unit could do with a upgrade. In winter we struggled to heat up the house (other than the lounge which has a gas fire - old type but works wonders)

What a lovely house in a brilliant location. Plenty of space, comfortable and clean. We did a few hikes from our front door as well as there being great cafes, pubs and shops (particularly the gingerbread shop) and Wordsworth's grave on the doorstep. A fantastic stay!
