With the town’s amenities at your doorstep, including walking supplies shops and the starting points to some of the Lake District’s most scenic trails, this is the perfect spot for a walking holiday. After a day in the elements, head back to the property for a cosy evening in front of the crackling open fire, or a competitive night in the games room.
This large house, with its period charm, starts in the welcoming lounge where guests can gather to reflect on the day’s adventures in front of the characterful open fire, or relax with a book in the bay window. For further relaxation, head to the snug which also boasts comfortable seating, an open fire and TV. Enjoy memorable mealtimes in the large kitchen/diner, where the group can gather around the large table to enjoy the delights cooked up in the well-equipped kitchen area. Competitive guests will enjoy an evening spent in the games room with its table football. When day turns to night, head upstairs to the first and second floors where six delightful bedrooms await, five of which offer en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms; four cosy double rooms and two twin bedrooms. Completing the interior is a convenient shower room. Outside, enjoy a morning coffee in the small front garden which offers views of the surrounding fells.
Wander to Derwentwater (0.5 miles), known as ‘Queen of the Lakes’, for beautiful walks with a dramatic backdrop. Discover Keswick’s pencil museum, town museum, art gallery, and outdoors shops, and watch a play at the Theatre by the Lake. Keen walkers should head to Skiddaw (5 miles), the peak that looms over Keswick. There are also great climbing opportunities nearby, including Shepherd’s Crag in Borrowdale (7.5 miles).
