Located on a pedestrian street in the vibrant market town of Kendal, this stylish loft apartment makes a wonderful base for exploring the Lake District. Offering flexible accommodation for four guests, this dog-friendly property is surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants and Kendal’s thriving art scene. Yet just outside the town, a world of outdoor activities await, making this an ideal base for couples, families and groups of friends seeking a balance between culture, relaxation and adventure.

Set above a business premises, 13 steps lead up to the apartment’s front door, where you’ll be greeted with a convenient entrance hall, perfect for storing coats, boots and dog leads. With high ceilings and plenty of natural light, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a warm and inviting space. Prepare home-cooked meals in the modern fitted kitchen, and gather to savour your creations around the family dining table. Then settle back in the comfortable sofas to watch a film or just enjoy quality time together. Along the hallway, a double bedroom and a king-room with a king-size zip-and-link bed offer flexible sleeping arrangements for your group; a sofa bed in the lounge offers an additional bed if required. A family bathroom and utility room take care of all practicalities.

While there’s no outside space at this property, it’s just 200 metres to the river, perfect for riverside strolls. While away hours discovering Kendal’s heritage including the ruins of Kendal Castle, and feed your creative side exploring its many art galleries and museums. From scenic walks around town to heading out into the surrounding fells, the town is a magnet for walkers and hikers, while Lake Windermere (10 miles) offers various water-based activities.

  • Kendal Train Station is only 10 minute walking distance, with direct trains to Manchester and links to London.

The Loft was stylish, clean and welcoming and the communication we had with David was excellent. There was a welcome pack with all sorts of goodies left for us to enjoy on arrival which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately, due to one of our dogs becoming very poorly, we had to cut our visit short and David was kind enough to follow up with a tRead moreext message asking how our dog was recovering which was again much appreciated.
