Wonderful, cosy, well-appointed cottage, with quality interior and facilities and a great location, especially for Ambleside, Conniston, Hawkshead, and the Langdales. We're already thinking of our return trip to explore more of the area. Highly recommended.

Cottage very comfortable, very clean and ideally located near to Ambleside, a 20 minute walk. Walks from the door and on bus routes leaving you free to not move your car for a week. Parking your car is within 2 minute walk of property with permit for 2 cars. Property caters for all your needs, Aga cooking station was excellent and provides you withRead more a very warm kitchen. Stable door in kitchen to side garden. Plenty of seating space which we enjoyed with several bbqs. Cottage is close to road and is opposite busy junction so traffic noise scores high. We did get used to it and it did not spoil our stay. The sofas are roomy and comfy a welcome joy after a long walk. Although it was a warm sunny week we still lit the fire, large wood burner which we enjoyed each night. The lounge is cool, which is perfect. You can put heating on if required but loved that it was your choice and so we didnt. WiFi is good inside cottage and you can run your TV streaming. Phone signals are hit and miss. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated and we choose the back room with en-suite best night sleep. Main bathroom has roll top stand alone sit up bath - wonderful after your mountain walking. The large shower great power which u can increase/ decrease. The cottage was a joy and we loved it and will be back. Just as a note there is no Welcome pack so bring milk and tea bags. Bin man is Monday and they let themselves in the side gate to do bin. Garage in Ambleside provides wood and kindling and reasonable price. Cottage only provides wood for 1 night and the wood burner eats wood! If you tend to use washing machine they dont leave washing tablets so bring some. No need for dryer as heat from Aga dried them in no time. If you like to walk up hills walk right next to cottage climbs about 200 metres and the views are breathtaking and you continue to walk on the top into Ambleside. Worth it. Hide

We had an AMAZING time at Crag Head. The cottage was so clean and cozy. It was close to everything, even our own little trailhead up to Loughrigg. The notes were user friendly and kind, making living in a different country (were Canadian) as seamless as possible. Hope we can come again.

The cottage is well situated for getting around the Lakes to all the favourite places, but is situated very close to quite a busy road. Saying that - it is relatively quiet inside the cottage. Overall its OK, we had a great week with fantastic sunshine throughout.
