Part of a charming complex of relaxing holiday retreats set on a working farm, this delightful property makes a fantastic base for couples and smaller families exploring a breathtaking part of northern England. Situated close to Cumbria’s border with Northumberland, the light and thoughtfully updated single-level cottage is perfect for discovering the breathtaking North Pennines and the magnificent Northumberland National Park. Offering cosy accommodation for up to four guests, this stylishly decorated, tastefully furnished retreat also features a shared hot tub and a summer house.

The relaxing lounge is perfect for snuggling up in the evenings with a book or a film, and leads to the fresh and airy open-plan kitchen/diner, an ideal space for getting together to cook and share your favourite family dishes. Upstairs, you will find two cosy bedrooms: a cheerful king-size room and a lovely twin, both with plenty of storage space and refreshing en-suite shower rooms. Outside, there’s a charming patio area to the front of the cottage with garden furniture; it’s a lovely spot to sit back, unwind and enjoy some al fresco dining on a sunny summer’s day. You will also have access to a large lawn, a summer house and a hot tub shared with the neighbouring properties.

The cottage sits just a couple of miles from the friendly market town of Brampton which has a choice of great places to eat and drink after a fabulous day’s exploring. The edge of the North Pennines is to the south (2 miles) and Northumberland National Park is to the north-east (10 miles), offering miles of unforgettable walking trails. The route of Hadrian’s Wall passes by to the north (5 miles), with other local attractions including RSPB Geltsdale, Talkin Tarn Country Park, Solway Aviation Museum and the Roman Army Museum, all within 10 miles.

Everything about the holiday was good, except the weather but nobody could do anything about that. The property was clean and comfortable and well equipped and the owners very friendly and helpfull. We had a lovely week.

Part way tjhrough the booking process I emailed Original Cottages about a discount using a promotional code that I didnt seem to receive. I didnt get a reply to that email.
