A cosy holiday cottage for two guests, this delightful romantic retreat is part of a cheerful complex of properties set on a working farm outside the picturesque Cumbria village of Milton. Within easy reach of the border with Northumberland, the property features exposed stonework, a relaxing wood burner, a charming sunroom and access to a lovely shared hot tub and summer house. Beautifully converted from a former farm building, this characterful retreat is perfect for walkers and nature lovers discovering the North Pennines or following the route of Hadrian’s Wall.

From the parking area, a few steps lead up and into this beautifully updated cottage. The cosy lounge features original stone walls, comfortable seating and a cheerful wood burner, providing a great space to snuggle up, chat about the day or watch a film. A couple of steps lead up into the kitchen, ideal for rustling up snacks and tasty meals which you can enjoy in the bright and light-filled sunroom overlooking the garden. Exploring this pretty cottage further, you will find a peaceful double bedroom and a refreshing bathroom. Stepping outside, there’s a lovely decked area which makes a charming sun trap and an ideal spot for a glass of wine in the evening. You will also have access to a shared lawn, a summer house and a bubbling hot tub.

The cottage is just a couple of miles from the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the outskirts of the stunning Northumberland National Park to the east (10 miles). Brampton (2 miles) has some friendly pubs and restaurants, perfect for relaxing in after a day exploring the route of Hadrian’s Wall (5 miles). Other local attractions include Birdoswald Roman Fort, RSPB Geltsdale, Talkin Tarn Country Park and the Solway Aviation Museum, all within 10 miles.

Teeny tiny but a good base to explore the area from. NB no day light in the sitting room but masses in the sun room.

Not sure were to start...positives are:- Good parking, good location, warm, plenty of space for toiletries, good quality linen & towels, bed comfy. NEGATIVES are:- WIFI never worked for our full stay, outside light didnt work so at night it was dangerous and difficult to reach door, no light in conservatory so no good at night. TV had issues, DVD hRead moread no batteries, Lamp table legs wonky, No instructions for recycling, Decking/Handrail/Steps need attention, Kitchen/bathroom Vinyl needs relaying, kitchen tap base loose, cheap toaster plastic melted, shower rail loose, towel rail loose, extractor not working, basin/bath didnt drain so had to buy bleach to fix problem, no bath handrail, no non slip mat, no coat hooks, kitchen bin broken, no baking tray, wardrobe door wonky, kitchen is very tiny. The cottage should change its name from Stable to Wonky Cottage. Hide

Perfect little retreat with everything you could need, lovely log fire, cosy bedroom and an ideal private hot tub!

A cute little cottage,just right for walkers. Take all the supplies you need as no shops in walking distance.

The cottage is in an ideal location for visiting relatives in Brampton. It is comfortable, well equipped and had everything we needed at a very reasonable price.
