Explore the Lake District’s beautiful Langdale Valley from this holiday home near Chapel Stile. Sleeping four guests, and welcoming a canine companion, the two-bedroom hideaway looks out over verdant, undulating surroundings from its elevated setting, 5 miles from Ambleside and 6.5 miles from Coniston. Ideal for a family with older children or two couples on a Cumbrian break together, it is well positioned for walks, cycle rides and trips out on the water at Lake Windermere.
Let yourselves into this friendly retreat to find welcoming accommodation with an abundance of natural light. Head into the lounge/diner to relax on the soft seating and simply lose yourselves in the views. Watch the Smart TV in here too and make plans for the following day’s adventures. Whip up tasty dishes in the kitchen then dine together at the table or out in the sunshine. One of your bedrooms, a double, is also downstairs, together with a family bathroom. The other bedroom, a twin, is up on the first floor, where it has some limited head height due to its sloping ceiling. Lose yourselves in the wonderful views from the south-facing patio. Dine out here as often as possible and open a bottle of wine to linger over as the sun sets over your picturesque surroundings.
Venture 6.5 miles to visit the National Trust’s commanding Wray Castle on the shores of Lake Windermere; board a cruise from here to take in the marvellous scenery from the water. Head into vibrant Ambleside to go shopping, visit the galleries and see the Roman fort. Enjoy a walk around the small but beautiful lake at Tarn Hows, 6 miles away, or head slightly further to Coniston Water, 6.5 miles away, to complete a 15-mile circuit of the lake, following part of the Cumbria Way as you go.
