Enjoy a stay at the heart of historic Cockermouth when you book this immaculate, refurbished cottage. Sleeping six guests, and welcoming pets with open paws, the three-bedroom holiday home is within 500 metres of the heart of the town and the National Trust's famous Wordsworth House and Garden, the childhood home of the famous poet. It is also 1.5 miles from the Lake District.

Wander into the cottage to unlace your walking boots or slip off your wellies in the hall. Head on through to the modern-style kitchen/diner to unpack any fresh Cumbrian delicacies you have bought in town and to start thinking about preparing the next delicious meal. Open the external door in here on warm days to bring in a cool breeze and call everyone through to gather round the table for holiday feasts. There is also a useful utility room in this part of the cottage. While away your evenings together through in the comfortable lounge. Play charades in here on winter evenings or catch up on your favourite boxset on the Smart TV. As the day draws to a close and you are ready to lay your head on your pillow, climb the stairs to the bedrooms. These include a double room, with beams, a single room, and a triple with three single beds. There is also a family bathroom. Make the most of the sunshine in the summer by dining out on the patio. Have afternoon tea out here too after picking up tasty baked goods as you wander round the shops of Cockermouth.

Venture 6 miles to beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake where you can follow paths along its western shore. Have a day out to Keswick, 12 miles away, to potter in the shops, dine out and see a show at the Theatre by the Lake.
