Gaze out across the beautiful Langdale Valley from this sizeable, historic retreat in Chapel Stile. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom, dog-friendly abode offers sumptuous, reverse-level accommodation designed for your utmost comfort and with its setting in mind. From here head 5 miles to Ambleside, with its shops and eateries. Spend time on Lake Windermere, about the same distance away, where you can walk along the western shore and visit places like Wray Castle.

Let yourselves into the slate-built property downstairs to leave your outerwear in the hall. At this level, you will find two of your bedrooms, a super-king-size, with an en-suite shower room, and a king-size, with an en-suite bathroom. There is also a utility room, plus a cinema room, where you can gather for movie nights in front of the Smart TV. Climb the gorgeous oak staircase to emerge in a barn-style, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Take in the impressive views from this enticing space, with its vaulted and beamed ceiling. Watch TV or play games as you unwind on the plush seating beside a crackling wood burner. Pull back the bi-folding doors to bring in a summer breeze or step out to the glass-fronted balcony. Whip up tasty meals in the kitchen then dine together inside or out. A super-king-size bedroom and a king-size, each with an en-suite shower room, are also at this level, together with a separate WC. This lovely retreat comes with a lower-level patio, as well as its first-floor balcony, where you can relax, chat and dine out in the fresh summer air.

Lace up your walking boots and hike 2 miles to picturesque Rydal Water. Visit Grasmere, once home to poet William Wordsworth, where you can buy the village's famous gingerbread. Take a cruise on Lake Windermere from Waterhead, 5 miles away.

Lovely property in a great location. Lots of walks from the door as well as options for pub meals out. Property is well equipped and nicely furnished. The weather wasnt great whilst we were there so didnt get chance to use the balcony but can imagine its lovely on a nice day. We will definitely return.

Perfect location, large yet cosy house, very spacious, beds and linen were extremely comfortable and fresh fluffy white towels were so nice. Amazing views.

Outstanding property very very comfortable and warm .Sufficient seating crockery utensils glass wear for 8 . ( Could use another sofa in the cinema room as not enough seats in there ) Awesome that every room had its own en-suite so no queuing for a bathroom .Fantastic location with easy access to walks from Chapel Stile and pub and shop in the villRead moreage.We had a wonderful time staying with old friends eating drinking walking pubbing and most of all reminiscing and laughing .We will be back Hide

Great location with stunning views Large spacious property, great for our family holiday Large comfy beds. Lovely en suites Fab cinema room Not secure enough garden for our small dogs, even after enquiring. The large grassed area on the ariel photo isn't usable, steep and unkempt Overall though we loved our stay.

A very lovely and spacious cottage, suitable for 8 persons and a dog. The top terrace has a lovely view over the valley and the ground floor covered terrace came in very handy during extensive rainy spells during our stay. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The hob proved to be a little small when cooking for a large group of people.

Dulcanter is a very cosy, well equipped and delightful property in a picturesque village. It has been thoughtfully designed and exceptionally well furnished. Very comfortable accommodation which suited our family get together perfectly.

Outstanding holiday property. Everything is good quality and the kitchen is so well equipped. The decor is beautiful and the upper floor deck area off the living room is the perfect space to catch the afternoon sun whilst admiring the view of the fells. Great quiet location too
