The elegant kitchen has an apron sink and an elegant monochrome colour scheme, while its adjoining dining room has a wooden table for socialising and eating. Windows and glass doors from here overlook the garden. There are two lovely bedrooms – a king-size and a double. The cottage also has a convenient home working space, just in case you need to deal with business while on holiday, and a family bathroom with striking green tiles. In the lawned garden, which has a stream running through it, you can dine alfresco on the patio furniture provided.
You’ll be in a peaceful rural spot 1 mile from the village of Gosforth, which has a shop, a pub and a café. The local area is a true treasure trove for nature lovers, with scenic walking trails at Ponsonby Fell (3.5 miles) and Eskdale (5.5). At Wastwater (4.5 miles), you can go kayaking or paddleboarding on England’s deepest lake or tuck into a picnic on its banks.
