Located 1 mile from the heart of Keswick, and surrounded by excellent walking trails, this welcoming property is perfect for outdoorsy types. You’ll be conveniently close to Keswick’s many shops, cafes and restaurants, along with local amenities such as the Pencil Museum, crazy golf, climbing wall and art gallery (all within 1.5 miles). Whether you’re embarking on a boat cruise on Derwentwater (1.5 miles) or tackling one of the many challenging hiking routes nearby, you’ll love knowing your comfy accommodation will be waiting when you get back.

This stylish cottage is beautifully presented, with glossy tiles, quality furniture and tasteful artwork on the walls. On the ground floor, a cosy carpeted lounge features dual-aspect windows that flood the space with natural light and allow you to appreciate those stunning views as you relax on the sofa. Enjoy entertainment on the Smart TV and switch on the electric fire if it’s chilly. The modern kitchen/diner combines contemporary units and appliances with a lovely wooden table where you can sit down for group meals, either home-cooked or a takeaway from one of Keswick’s many outlets. Two of the property’s three bedrooms are on the ground floor: a cosy double with fabulous views from its bay window, and a king-size zip-and-link which can be made up as a twin on request. This floor is also home to the stylish family bathroom. Upstairs, lies the final, twin bedroom and a second lounge. Outside, the enclosed garden presents a private haven, with a furnished patio area and a lush lawn.

Take the dog for a short stroll up to the famous Castlerigg Stone Circle (0.5 miles) or, for a longer walk, follow the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trail (300 metres). This pleasant 3-mile-long path weaves its way over the River Greta and takes in some of the original Victorian railway bridges. At Lingholm (3 miles) you can view the inspirational garden of the literary great, Beatrix Potter, who is said to have spent ten summer holidays at the estate. Using public transport? A bus stop outside the property offers an easy link to other popular towns like Grasmere, Ambleside, Windermere and Cockermouth, all within 20 miles.
